My frkn parents and school...parents making me move around to their place and than to a vacation for months...I just dont have the time to do a job. And when I get back to school...no time at all too, I mean I got my schedule full with classes. And if I do apply for a job now...for fall, than I cannot say when I can work, because I still dont have the class schedule for fall. And than...I never really worked my entire life....well not for money. I was always the house cleaning dude...washing dishes...laundry...carrying bags from shopping. Oh yeah...why can't I get a job? Well than, I need to start looking for one.

I can't get the premise of a post. Virtually any occupation (except management) can be made low paid and unattractive, even brain surgeons, scientists and stuff. You think hispanics works only in agribusiness? Visit your friendly manufacturing plant nearby :) Or you think that hispanics are not capable of anything else than picking berries?

Hispanics are used to working long and hard in this climate, so they make themselves available to do the work. I tell you what. We have labor pool locations in Houston. Usually they are located on major streets around town where the Hispanics wait to be picked up for day labor. There are no Blacks out there, they be in da welfare line. I see these Hispanic men out there in the blazing heat doing any work they can find to do to take care of their family that's here as well as send their hard earned money back home to better their families lives. They work, and they work hard.

By the same token, I've worked with Black folks who have jobs. They're lazy. They're on the phone and the computer all day jiving with their "cousins." And they're all "cousins." Their mentality is that they believe they are owed a job. When they get that job, it's impossible to fire them when they don't do that job. I've had them tell me right to my face, "that's not in my job description!" More than once. They weren't interested in improving their chances for promotion, but they sure expect their annual raises and bonuses. I won't even bring up the subject of a predominantly all Black university in town graduating "professionals" who can't even read or speak English! Medical school is another story. Blacks who are excepted, and there are quotas, if they can't cut the mustard in a four-year program, they'll let the Black students keep taking classes until they do pass. If that were a White student, they'd be out the door before it hit them in their White ass.

All this may sound prejudiced against Blacks. I've had some wonderful Black friends and close associates whose skin color wasn't noticible. I've finally come to the conclusion that racism isn't the way they think Whites see Blacks. It's the way Blacks project themselves to Whites. That goes for every skin color and nationality. We can only see them as they want to be seen. The race card is in their hands, not ours.
