Where do you get your TV programming from? My family gets the top 150 + Cinemax and HBO from Dishnetworks. That is satellite.

We get analog Comcast cable (as you probably know, Comcast just took over AT&T cable a couple of months ago, AT&T only does phone related stuff now). Analog would be an analog signal, what you refer to as "plain old", not digital. I think we get about 80 channels total. Just the basic package, but it comes with a fair amount of stuff (bout 40 bucks a month).

I really don't watch TV much. When I do, I usually stick to the 30's channels (which in my part of Florida, are things like Discovery, CNN, Court TV, etc..... reality based stuff)

NTL Digital Cable, something like 250 channels and you can bet your ass that only two have something remotely watchable on at any one time

i get about 80 channels. and really only about 20 of them are even remotly decent. ihave them hot-keyed so i don't even have to surf through the other 60 sucky channels.

at my house we have basic cable. but i voted digital cable since that is what my b/f has, and that is the only place i will watch tv. Once i got used to digital cable i refused to deal with basic. I looove being able to watch one thing and channel surf at the same time.... keeps the ADD under control.. j/k.. ;)

Every channel just about will have something decent on it once in a while.
Discovery, national geographic and the history channel are fucking awesome, I don't know how you could live without them. The old "tv makes you stupid" idea doesn't fly with me at all. Probably because tv WAS my education almost exclusively.
I watch alot of it. Not ashamed at all, proud even.
I have enormous amounts of information being stuffed into my brain most of the day. Even if the information is dumb(reality tv or something) you still learn stuff. You learn that reality tv sucks and why it sucks.

Man, sometimes I think I am the only one in the world who does not (directly) pay for television. I chose the antenna option.

We have digital cable but we're looking into something else because we're tired of our local cable company jacking up the prices every so often and blaming it on their providers. BLEH!
