I think it would be better without soaps, diy, repeats, tennis, football, horse racing.

Discovery channels are ok for pop science, history.

    Some cartoons are ok.

    Most news channels are rubbish.

I have my programs on while I am working out of the home. I fill my mind with Christian stuff until I leave. It's like a free education. It builds me up for the day and gets me ready for the enemy. I watch very little secular tv. It's all stuff like Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyer, John Hagee, Kenneth Copeland, Andrew Womack, etc...

I watch some of American Idol, some O'Reilly and Hannity, and that's about it.

Benny Hinn and Joyce Meyer are exactly what shouldn't be on TV...a swindler and a hatemonger (can't speak for the others, never listened to them). But...I guess free speech and all that...I blank out the religious channels in my subscription anyway.

And I think TV on the whole is one of the best inventions and technological achievements ever. Outside of the educational and communicative benefits, I am moved to say that the entertainment value is also a benefit. Sitcoms, cartoons, movies etc, whatever one's taste is. I consider television a method of relaxation primarily, and expect programming options such aligned.

IMO, people who remain aloof of TV are missing out on a life experience. It's always a plus to keep tabs on pop culture, if only to socialize better. Of course as with everything else, bounds of reason need be applied, but a total excommunication of televised media (again IMO) is quite draconian.

Do you KNOW Benny Hinn and Joyce Meyer? Ever watch one of their programs with an open heart? Nah, didn't think so. Just hate without firsthand experience. Typical liberal.

Secualr tv is mostly cr@p. Sitcoms are a stupid waste of time. They don't edify you. They don't educate you.

OK -- watch -- one .... two ....three **CRUNCH**
Did you see that?? That's the power of Jesus! Jesus gave me the strength to break the 2 x 4! Do you doubt the power of the lord? I can't HEAR YOU!!
OK -- bring me that phone book-- I'm gonna show you the power of the almighty....UUUUNNNNGGGHHHH.....
    ** RRRRRRRRIIIIIPPPP**
...DID YOU SEE THAT!! Did you see that!! Hallelujah.

My favorite channels (only channels I'll ever watch actually) are the Discovery channels, the Science channel, History channels, and the Military channel.

Not everything has to be educational. I like wasting time every now and then.

I don't watch TV in the traditional sense. If I hear about a show that's interesting, I wait till it's run is over so that I can get it on dvd and watch it in one go.

Except for CSI. My one TV addiction.

TV is like everything in life it can be a good thing in moderation. I think that alot of people revolve their life completely around the television and this can only be described as a bad thing.

I dont watch much TV usually just sports, the ocassional sitcom/cartoon and a small selection of shows that I enjoy.

I have watched Benny and Joyce with an OBJECTIVE MIND. Much better than an "open heart". They were elitist and scornful of any opinion that didn't match their own. I found them extremely repellant and completely opposite to what morality should be.

There is NO such thing as secular TV.

And like i SAID sandy...part of the use of TV is to entertain. After 8 hours of work, and an hour of training do you honestly think I want to sit down and focus on two hours of the mating habits of lions? Or would it be more beneficial to relax my neurons with some laughs??? I don't know about you, but TV is part of the reason I remain stress free.

Physical training is good but spiritual training is even better

1 Timothy 4:8: For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

I put it to you that relaxation of the mind constitutes as spiritual training, at least in part.

    SANDY! COME ON!

I have to admit it, I love television. I watch alot of it. Hell, I'm at work right now watching the Food Network. There is alot of interesting stuff on television. Now I don't watch reality crap and corny sitcoms. I like to stay around Discovery Channel or the History Channel, that and Fox News.

i like watching tv, but i dont watch a lot, i prefer to read a book and talk with the family, but i will admit that i watch "supernatural" every sunday!!

i dont think tv is bad if its in a small amount, but to put your kids in front of it and use it has a babysitter is bad
