    The first question is are you using a proxy network to connect to the internet?

    You might or might not know the answer to this, but none the less what you say is occuring sounds very much like your system has been set to go through a Proxy. A proxy usually works as a Cache server that cache's the things you ask it to get to make it available to other people on a network.

    Proxies are usually used on large networks like Colleges so one file isn't downloaded by a classroom of students 100 times, but more copied from the cache 100 times. It's intension can be to save bandwidth, however a Proxy does have a nasty habit of serving "Stale" information sometimes.

    I would guess that any settings that are rigged for proxying are going to be in Internet Explorer (Since it shares it's Proxy setting with Outlook)

    To check to see if your Internet Explorer is using a Proxy click the Tools menu from the top bar, and scroll down to Internet Options....

    You can check that explorer isn't cacheing stale pages by going to the frame Temporary Internet Files and clicking Settings, make sure that Check for newer versions of stored pages: is set to Automatically.

    Ok that box

    ==================================

    NOW FOLLOW EITHER:
    (Please note: If you need a proxy to access the internet, then make sure their details are correct, removing proxy settings from connections that need them will result in not being able to connect to the internet)

    ==================================

    This if your using a LAN connection to connect

    Click the Connections Tab at the top of the Internet Options box.

    click LAN Settings in the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings frame.
    Make sure all options are unticked, Ok your way out of settings.

    ==================================

    If your using any other dialup (DSL etc)

    Click the Connections Tab at the top of the Internet Options box.

    Choose your Dialup in the box with your connection(s) in, and click the Settings button.
    Make sure the Proxy Settings frame has an untick checkbox for use proxy server for this connection

    OK you way out of settings

    ==================================

    Hope this helps you fix your problem.
