I'm sure some of the more political-minded of you talk about politics more than some others would like.

Well, here's my story...

~~~Often I say things about the US, to my family, just passing remarks, usually not to severe.

Well, my sister confronts me one day and tells me that I shouldn't talk bad about the US, because we live here.~~~

Now, what does that tell you about our country? She didn't try to refute my points. But rather she told me that I shouldn't say stuff like that because we live in the country I'm badmouthing. Doesn't that sound like something somebody would say in North Korea so that their brother wouldn't get shot, "we live in North Korea, don't talk bad of it [ie because it is dangerous]"?

What are your opinions here?

Your sister is probably talking about the fact that you might piss off some "patriots" and they would kill you, it's happened before.

GB, you aren't of middle eastern dissent are you? Or Mexican? I had a Mexican friend, she got cussed at for talking during a 9/11 moment of silence, her whole point was that it was a year later and that she really didn't see the big fuss about it. This one white guy said almost the exact same thing and didn't get cussed at, what's up with that?
