    Hi all,

Is it possible to remove IE from Windows, yes, I know it's 'integrated' and, may stop Windows from loading but the later isn't a problem because I have no important data on this machine.

    Cheers,
    Ben

I actually once removed IE from Windows, but I'm not too sure how I did that. The only thing I remember is that my Windows wnt haywire that time that I ned to reinstall it... no joke.

I think removing internet explorer might just remove the internet hooks. Windows 98 and latter still uses the explorer browser which I think is inextricably linked to windows. I have read of ways of deleting it by using the windows 95 version to de-update the windows 98. I have to wonder why anyone would want to do this...

While it is possible to remove IE with the metod described by zion, it is *impossible* to remove the IE components. These will remain because they are used by the Windows Explorer!!!! Windows 98 was the last windows with the option to *ompletely* remove IE. Windows 2000 and newer have integreated the html components into the base system.

The best way to remain safe is to install and use another browser & e-mail client (do not forget the e-mail client, outlook express & outlook are used in about 80% of the ie exploits).
