Steam has had some great deals on lately. I have most of the games but still. Steam rocks.

It's an excellent model. I know two people who used to pirate games like there was no tomorrow who purchase absolutely everything they play now. They often wait for specials of course, but that's still money for the developers that they weren't getting before. As for me, I don't game much these days, but I've racked up a number of purchases as well.

Steam's come along way considering the number of teething problems. I don't know however if they ever fixed the various server hacks and cheats people were using on games like Counterstrike:Source etc. They were serious multiplayer killers.

What is good however is that having an account allows you to download the game in the future to which ever computer you want to play it on, you just have to remember to login to your account.

(Incidentally, Both Amazon and EA [which has renamed it Origin] have similar systems available for downloading and installing games. EA has actually moved on from it's "3 month limit" for downloading to being like the others and again both have constant offers just like Steam)

The one thing that's been pissing me off lately is that even with my password I cna't just change my email, it sends a confirmation code to my current email, but the damn thing is I deleted it months ago it doesn't exist anymore yet steam offers no way around this unless I contact them directly, frankly it's pathetic. I updated it easily on any other site that exists because they don't stupidly send confirmation codes to my email inbox when it isn't there anymore!
