Hey all. I've searched google but just come up with crap. Could someone tell me or point me to where i could find information concerning the sciences in different countries? Countries like Spain, Russia, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, etc.

Like what sort of jobs are available, if foreigners are being hired, how much the pay is, what sort of degrees are in demand, what sort of research is being done, who's doing the hiring, etc. Concerning biology that is.

Any info or help would be great! Thanks

Well, our universities in particular do a lot in Australia. Every week or so the news tells us of some medical research breakthrough. I think medical research in particular is quite big here. We're just getting started on physics really. There was that team in Sydney a while ago who teleported a beam of light, and my uni is getting some massive electro-hoobagoo sometime soon.

It seems to me that Australia is more open to new developments than many other countries. For example, we were the first to DNA print almost the entire male population of a whole town, to find a rapist. It was strictly voluntary, and the dumb-arse actually volunteered and was caught. It was basically a test case, an introduction of the technology for such use. It probably wouldn't have been allowed in the USA or England. So it was tried here, for a small outback town, for a case everyone was angry about (a litle old lady was raped and beaten), so it was accepted. And now we have a precedent. I think Australia is often used as a place for setting such precedents.
