Anyone watch this weeks episode? It was pretty damned good! Very much like a good episode of CSI,except the perp was an alien (a Wraith, to be specific). I liked the idea of a Wraith trying to pass as human, interacting with the various mafia guys in Vegas. The philosophical implication of the many worlds hypothesis and the importance of singular events on our lives was also an interesting idea. That Shepherd could be a loser in an alternate reality and yet still be basically the same guy you could count on when you needed him was intriguing. The music was pretty good too.

It was also a clever way to usher in the series finale. The whole time I was watching the episode I was thinking, "Interesting episode, but why go with this with only one more episode to go?"

It really sucks that this is the series finale. I've never felt that Allantis was as good as the original StarGate at its peak, but it's still good fun. And what the hell else does the SciFi channel have? Once BSG is finished, all we'll have left is Carter's new show (which isn't that great) and old Twilight Zone reruns!

    Anyway, good episode.

I started off not liking it, but it grew on me by the end. The tie in to the final was a little disappointing to me though, just some technobabble that was a little less believable than usual. But it was their 100th episode, I was expecting them to do something different and they delivered that.
ECW wrestling. Because you know, so many science fiction fans are wrestling fans too

I was sitting there thinking "Oh. My.God." What the hell is going on here? What have they done.

Until the bit about alternate dimensions. Then, Satisfied that this was still relatively science fiction, I enjoyed the rest of the episode. This isn't the series finale.

The series finale was great(spoiler): It involves Atlantis returning to earth.

Not that my opinion matters a damn, but no... can't stand the thing, nor that which spawned it.
I'll leave re-runs of Stargate on for, like, five minutes or so if Amanda Tapping's on the screen - but if that guy with the little gold thing glued to his forehead shows up... ...aieeee...!!!!
    LoL

Maybe they'll bring back Black Scorpion...

See that's because you're looking at it as 'a guy with a gold thing glued to his forehead'. You can't enjoy science fiction without suspension of disbelief. Same reason why all the aliens in Star Trek look like people with prosthetics on, or why all the lab tests in CSI are done in a matter of minutes instead of taking weeks, just a limitation of the medium that you have to look past in order to enjoy the broader picture.

Eventually you get to the point where you don't even notice that stuff anymore, you just accept it as part of this make believe world, or a budget limitation, and focus on the story instead. In fact the only time things like that have bothered me is watching episodes of science fiction high on :m:. For some reason the :m: made it impossible for me to ignore the fact that these were just people on a set with rubber things glued to their foreheads. Totally ruined it for me until I watched the episode again sober.

No... I understood it to be his "unit insignia", or "brand name", or whatever.

    Stargate just didn't send me.

Stargate never was my favorite sci-fi show. I liked the early SG1 with O'Neill but after that it's just something I'll download and watch when I'm bored. McKay's character is the redeeming factor in Atlantis for me.

I'll be sad when BSG is over this year though

Hey firstly... theres a new series coming out. Stargate Universe. Wiki has info on it.

There are also a couple of straight to dvd videos coming out to close the last season of Atlantis.

Now my opinion on the show Vegas. I first thought "omg.. they must be desperate for money" but then I thought a lil more and I thought "omg

another filler". It wasnt all that bad. The whole emo wraith thing was pretty cool for a bit. The tie in to the next episode was stupid.. it was a desperate attempt to get continuity in the series.

Ive watched the next episode as well.. the final episode and it does tie in a bit to the next episode.. but Im hoping the movies will place more significance on that event.

Im glad Atlantis is over.. this last season felt like a filler season.

LOL. I was laughing at that. When I first saw it, It almost synched with the light side of the characters that we see, especially Vala.

Come on now, it will clearly be more like a cross between that and Star Trek: Voyager.
