Star Trek - Elite 2

Anyone playing this one? I am well and truly stuck. I am on the outer hull of the Enterprise and have to disable an alien cruiser without destroying it, with a "cannon", however - thats not the problem. I do not get enough time to do what is asked without the "Mission Failed" red board coming up. How do I skip this infuriating level???

I play at the hardest level, that's why it's so hard for me. Took me like 20 reloads to get it through. The goal is to get the cannon round (use right click to fire) right at the target area of the alien ship. There will be three target marks. One on the front of the alien ship and one on each side of the alien ship. The alien ship will pass your cannon head on once, then board side three times. You have to blow up all three marks within three to four passes. You have to use cannon rounds. Try to get two rounds right on the traget area. If you hit it right, the traget will blow up in 2 shoots, if not, try use the laser (left click fire) to finish it. You can pretty much ignore all the small vessels flying around. They just distract you and don't do much damages on the Enterprise.

Does it require CD?

I guess it has strict licensing too. Why can't they just give it away for free and ask for donations? Instead it's copy locked, which is so illogical.

 

Trust me, the "disable alien ship mission" is only considered as moderate difficult when compares to the missions near the end of the game.

Had another go, still cannot do it!! Get past first one, then the next is awkward, I suppose I have the get the range/speed/shot right!! Ah well, keep trying!

Fen, why is it "illogical"? These people put a fair amount of work into developing these games, why give them away?
