Sometimes you have to make decisions that are unpopular - and sometimes you have to confront persons , that have "unusual and untraditional" ideas without connection to science , and who´s minds work in "mysterious ways" ... I am trying to be nice and diplomatic here !!!

Sometimes this forum is something in between a kindergarden and a schoolfight - and the awfull truth is , that we need mods here - otherwise this forum would enter into pure anarchy !!

Spurious ... take a few days off - spend it with family and friends - and remember to get drunk with your friends - when you are sober , come back after New Year and continue here on Scifo as a mod - OK :)

Anyway - recently I have been ashamed of beeing a sciforian - if you are a member of a club or society in my country - you actually back up your fellow members !!!

here it's mainly been about fun, alleviating boredom. I did enjoy some genuine dialogue but I wasn't allowed to indulge for long due to the pratts round here who won't let a freethinker comment freely.

Of course, real life is like that too.
Never know what people are going to do until they do it.

A possibility to consider is that no one knows how to respond to such concerns. So the moment passes.

Let me put it like this, people don't hate you, they just can't understand why you became hostile towards them.

I know I wrote a response previously suggesting it a 'womanly problem', however I didn't actually know you had something that had been playing on your mind that was more serious. If I did know then perhaps what was said would of been written a little differently.

It should be known by now that people act up on these and many other forums, they might not understand a persons situation and act uncaring. All too often by the time they ever work out something is wrong, it's all too late.

For instance the forum I frequented before Sciforums many years ago had a Lady moderator that attempted to keep everybody from each others throat, what we didn't know at the time was she contracted a varient of cancer and was undergoing treatment.

Unfortunately for her it wasn't treated in time and she never mentioned about what she was going through in detail, other than a blog that only a few of us knew about. One day, she just stopped posting to the blog, many weeks went by until someone posted on the forums explaining they were her brother and that it had taken them weeks to get around to turning her computer on and then using it.

She had died from the Cancer, but nobody would have been the wiser from her absence.

There wasn't anything us posters at that forums could of done to help her, other than what we did and that was keep her from worrying so much about the tell tale signs that her lifes end was drawing near. (Loss of memory, lack of energy etc) She will always be missed.

It was a reality check. You lot are a brand of people I've not really come across in my real world. Maybe it's the science thing. The only other person remotely interested in science is my bfriend. AND I met him initially over the internet! Our first chat was about deltoid worms! We are real time now though, no wierd internet dating thing!

How am I with people in need? Careful but supportive.
Experience has taught me that if you let needy people lean too much on your shoulder, as soon as you move a little to the left, they fall over.
I generally help people up till a point of independance and then I back of.

I am one of these people , strangers tell their entire life story to and that kids gravitate towards. So, I find myself sometimes being very offish so I get some space.

I would imagine most of us weren't aware or didn't see your health concerns.

Most of us have major issues in our lives ToR. Some have health, some financial, some personal. It does not mean people don't care. It just means that people do not see all that is written. And some do not care and cannot care because they are so caught up in their own lives and their own concerns that they simply cannot take on anymore. That's just how life is.

I don't think I'd ever post my worries or stresses on here with the expectation of others 'caring', because frankly I don't know anyone on here on a personal level enough to share such personal details. I might say I've been sick, but that would be about it. Going deeper is just too much.

I never went into detail, I just hinted and cotton caught the hint, so no-one to blame really. But I did hope that if I did get ill I could talk about it here. Why would I want to?

Because talking about my fears to the people who care about me and know me, hurt them too much. They didn't want me to talk about it. I could see their concerns and their distress so I put on a brave face for their sake. So faceless individuals were my best option, people who didn't care enough to be hurt but cared enough at least to listen. I realised that was a mistake. Sure I could have found a support group, but at the time, talking to people in the throws of cancer didn't feel like it was going to help me get over my fear of it. So I had no one to talk to about it. Funny old world we live in.

So, I checked out the thread and saw that Sauna's posts had been emptied and left with <deleted> in their place.
Heh.
So, I searched his post history, and apparently, he's been spending the past hour or more deleting all his posts.

No big deal?
Then why bother?

Wonder if he's deleting #1 too?
