Whenever there is a roach population (in southern states), you will see spiders who eat the roaches. But the roach population does not completely disappear....otherwise perhaps spiders will starve.

Could this be happening in Afghanistan? Just read an article in NYTimes about Taliban. Is the logic that if all Talibans are gone, we will have no reason to stay there...so mission is not quite accomplished...or are there too many of them that we can not catch them?

And that is EXACTLY why hunting to control the population is unnecessary.

I agree to certain extent. The problem occurs when you kill off a link in the food chain due to human encroachment, pollution , environmental degradation etc., then there is an imbalance - so you may have to artificially control it.

hey, it is my topic, you can go off topic...permited.

I hate killing animals (Thou shalt not kill)....or humans for that matter....Someday we will be like Mimbaris (Babylon 5)

But, the population will stabilize itself if you just give it time. Herbivores are still dependent on food sources.
