View Full Version : Specific evolution sub-forum

So much of Biology & Genetics forum is taken up with endless, pointless discussions about the theory of evolution. There is a small collection of creationist trolls who very effectively dominate (and, in my opinion, ruin) the forum by drawing people into multiple worthless arguments that all run simultaneously. They ignore everything that is explained to them and regurgipost the same old tired creationist nonsense over and over and over again.

I propose that there should be a specific evolution sub-forum and that all threads involving a discussion of evolutionary theory should be moved there. The quantity of evolution threads demands it.

Yes?

Oh God. Please no.

We're just pointing out the gaping holes in same old tired Darwinist nonsense.

I think it's a pretty good idea, actually.

How about a whole "Alternative Science" forum.

Pseudoscience is where Skin often puts threads which really rankle him.

Already got pseudoscience. Alternative science is just a more pc term for it.

It doesn't solve the problem of evolution threads clogging up the biology forum.
Threads sent to pseudo or alternative forums would just end up dying off with a new one created in biology.

Err.. no.

Why don't you guys just chill, if it's good science, you won't get much grief from the creationists.

Sorry, but this thread is not about to turn into a debate over evolution.

Precisely! That is exactly what we want to happen to all these stupid evolution threads started by the troll creationists.

.....with a new one created in biology.

...which will be moved to the evolution forum where it will die. If this is done each time the trolls will get the message and move on.

I think the Biology forum just needs a good moderator, that's all.
Or we risk creating countless of such 'special' forums.

Check the name next to the biology forum. ;)

This is the first time anyone has ever accused me of being pc.

Why don't more threads get moved there? I could point to at least half a dozen off the top of my head that need this designation.

Yes indeed. The reason I want a specific evolution forum is precisely because there is not nearly enough moderation in the Biology & Genetics forum. Appropriate moderation will dispense with the need for additional forums. In my opinion, the creationist trolls should be banned permanently. Bingo, problem solved!

But many people aren’t interested in solving problems and would rather be politically correct and weak-kneed when it comes to dealing with the loathsome creationist trolls. An acceptable compromise would be to immediately lock all threads started by the creationist trolls, or immediately move the threads to pseudoscience.

Hercul, just becaue you disagree with people's interpretations of data doesn't necessarily mean you're right, right?

In your case it does.

At least the science forums should be sacrosanct.:bawl:

Oh for goodness sakes.

If one of those 'evolution doubter' threads pop up, just delete them.
