With the current state of 'xenophobic' attacks I find myself in an ironic situation. The current violence is directed towards Africans from other countries, and even people of Middle Eastern origin. Yet the white South Africans here are not being effected by this at all. Its almost as if we have being accepted as being fellow native South Africans :>

Its just weird not having all the hate directed at us anymore. I guess its now a little more accepted that we have a common heritage and history in this country.

That's cool, heartwarming even, I hope you do your part for "south africa" and attack other africans and middle easterners (at least while native south africans are watching), you kind of aren't living up to your side of the bargain if you don't.

I hope australia can one day become unified like this, with aborigines and white australians forgetting their differences and celebrating their similarities by attacking immigrants.

Autralia is the most xenophobia state in the world. When Australia was being created they made a "white only" official immigration policy. They should try and take from S. Africa. I'm not too happy about S. Africa's policy either, I mean they could use immigrants to further their economic cause and lower prices, however having said this, one of Nigeria's problems includes illegal immigrants and general disrespect for the border.

I have a good friend who is South African...East Indian. Things were not so great for his family after the end of Apartheid. A brother disappeared and never heard of again. The rest of the family gathered up all they had and left the country. We also have lots of white Rhodesians and Malawis in our city...they were the ones who saw the writing on the wall and left before the '...' hit the fan.

To be blunt on this it might be that south Africans can see that the only reason it is worth fighting over is that it is the only country in africa that has been governed by whites and due to this it is the only country in Africa worth moving too.

Africa is fucking disgrace. While the rest of the world especially other poor nations have moved on in so many ways. You have this huge continent that is nothing more than a pile of streaming shat.

If you look at all of mans great achievements, disease control, famine eradication, law and order, war resolution etc then you look at Africa, you think my god what is wrong with these people.

Destroyer, disagree with the way I have expressed my opinion but you cannot disagree with the content. The world has by and large moved on a great deal and Africa has not learned to govern herself. The facts speak for them self on this.

Destroyer I'm not looking to whole continent to resolve its issues but you would think just one of the many countries could have done it by now.

Maybe Nigeria with all of its Oil wealth could have done it but, no. The problem with Africa is that you cannot even foresee that it sort itself out.

Thinking about this, this post shows the reason that Africa will never resolve its issues. Because as soon as one country begins to move forward the rest of Africa will flood in and the progress will be destroyed.

Nigeria has a huge population so no matter how much wealth it gets from oil it won't be enough. Also, the crime and corruption within Africa will always hold it back. Nigeria is another good example of this, with all of the kidnappings related to the oil industry.

African's for whatever reason live their lives as a free for all and do not have regard for the better good.

Just read up on Botswana and its good to see that they are making good progress although 1 in 3 with AIDS is still a major problem.

Was messed about this. is we have millions of Zimbabweans in South Africa, and they are here to escape Mugabe`s evil. Now, because our president has his ass so far up Mugabe`s ass... refugees from Zimbabwe have never being given asylum because according to our ANC government.. "there is no problem in Zimbabwe".

If there is one thing I have learnt from living in Africa, its that black people hate black people more than they hate white people (Tribalism was something the Apartheid government used to great effect) TIA. This is Africa.

I think what is happening is sad but also totally predictable. Million more mouths to feed in an environment that is already subjected to extreme poverty leads to something that is really a fight for survival. Burning alive if fucking savage tho.

Also, by Africa's standards is their a problem in Zimbabwe? There is no war at the moment so they are doing better than some. But again this shows the problem with Africa not helping herself by helping others.

Also, Mugabe just does not care about his country. He had a chance to step down and let someone else mess up Zimbabwe but he didn't take it. How does a country end up with a leader like this?

The continent is mostly run by kleptomaniac rulers. The world lets them gets away with it.

I have a cousin who lives in South Africa and has been living there for over 25 years now. She sent me an email yesterday telling me that it was getting worse and worse.

I understand the attacks are against other black migrants? And from what I understand of the situation, it stems from high unemployment and the blacks are blaming those who escaped from Mugabe's regime and migrants from other African countries and so have taken to attacking and killing them. 22 dead confirmed so far?

It's just horrific.

We were thinking on going there are the end of this year to go and visit said cousin and take the kids to the national parks, but we've changed our minds after hearing of the horrors over the past week or so.

My cousin is also looking into migrating elsewhere, because her position there and where she works has become so horrendous. Because she is classified as being 'white', the blacks where she works have taken to launching a racist campaign against her and after being sent to overseas for a work conference, she returned to find that they had advertised her position as being vacant and those working in the pay office had treated her work trip as being a holiday. Because she is bilingual and has a managerial position, her workmates are seeing her as being a throwback of the racist regime. That none of them are bilingual or willing to learn French is beside the point as far as they are concerned. Her boss was not informed of what her workmates had done and when she returned she confronted him and he immediately fired those who did it. So now they have taken to harassing her at home and through emails. I think she's just had enough and just wants to leave. Her husband is also starting to realise the same thing as well.:( I think this latest bout of violence is becoming a deciding factor in their decision to migrate.

Pretty sad.

She needs to show allegiance to south africa and light an arab on fire, in the office.

The violence is now spreading into our major cities... except now its definitly starting to look like tribalism (racisms dad).

Outsiders have been taking advantage of Africans for a long time. Too many Economists, Pastors, Lawyers and well-meaning artists are going there to teach the Africans not to industrialize and live as hunter-gatherers. They are supported by the vast resources of World Bank, IMF and Mega-Churches. On top of that, there are too many tribal and ethnic subgroups in Africa that fight among each other. It will take perhaps another thirty years before they have enough knowledge to know what to do and kick the snake oil salesmen out. We are working with a group in Rwanda, for a machine manufacturing project, that they seems to be highly progressive.

Kenyans burn alive 11 'witches'


Eleven women accused of being witches have been burned to death by a mob in the west of Kenya, police say.

A security operation has been launched to hunt down villagers suspected of killing the women in Kisii District.

The area has witnessed similar attacks in the past when people suspected of engaging in witchcraft have been killed or ostracised.

But correspondents say that this is a surprisingly large number of people to be attacked at the same time.

Local official Mwangi Ngunyi condemned the murders.

"People must not take the law into their own hands simply because they suspect someone," he told AFP news agency.


I know that years ago in the UK things like this would happen but we didn't know any better. It is sick that something like this can happen. There is something very wrong in Africa and it can only be the Africans.

However since it appears only white people can be racist and these black people running around burning each other and bashing up babies are simply "scared"... with their "xenophobia".. I would like to suggest the tabling of a new word I have just come up with for this hypocraticly ironic situation.

Black people tend to kill other Black people its not racist its fun. Here in England we have a special Police Unit called Trident that was set up to deal with black on black killings.

Were not allowed something like that. It would be considered racist :> They only tend to mention a criminals color in our country when the person is white... they never seem to mention the color of a criminal if he is black. :P
