My sound card on my dad's old computer isn't working. He runs on Windows 98, and here's what I did to check out the error message:
Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> System. I then clicked on the Device Manager tab and clicked on my sound card. The sound card is labled: AC-5618 Audio CODEC
Here's the error message I recived:
This decive is not working properly because the BIOS in the device is reporting the resources for the device incorrectly. (Code 9)
Now, what do I need to do to fix my sound card, or should I get a new one? If I have to get a new one, how can I get one that will work for Windows 98 and can get it for free.
