View Full Version : Soulmates - Real or Not darksidZz 06-07-09, 11:28 PM Vote! cluelusshusbund 06-08-09, 01:07 AM Define what you mean by sole-mate.!!! Lucysnow 06-08-09, 01:17 AM Yes thank you define. jessiej920 06-08-09, 01:25 AM A soul mate is a person that whether you love or hate, want to kiss or kill, want to drive them off a cliff or keep them by your side 24/7, is someone you can't live without. A soul mate is your right arm, your heart, your soul... I don't think soul mates are necessarily meant to be together or live happily ever-after and all that BS, but I do think they exist. A soul mate is just a kindred spirit. You can have soul mate lovers or soul mate friends. A soul mate is simply an extension of your being found in another person. When the two meet it's like a magnet. No matter how hard you try to pull away you are always drawn back to each other and without one another the world feels colder and more empty. That's just MHO. Lucysnow 06-08-09, 01:31 AM If this is the case then there are more than one soul mates. More than one person who can be our arm, heart and soul etc. The world might feel colder and more empty but not forever jessiej920 06-08-09, 01:36 AM If this is the case then there are more than one soul mates. More than one person who can be our arm, heart and soul etc. The world might feel colder and more empty but not forever Yes. I do believe you can have more then one soulmate. I think that idea of monogamy and all that can be stifling. To expect to find everything you need and want in one person is ludicrous and overwhelmingly impossible. I think you need several soulmates to balance it all out. You have the soulmate lover, the soulmate friend(s), the soulmate enemy. I just think that sometimes you stumble across a person and you know instantly that that person belongs to a part of you and vice versa. lucifers angel 06-08-09, 04:35 AM Vote! no i dont think anyone can be a soul mate Oli 06-08-09, 05:44 AM Yep, definitely. EmmZ 06-08-09, 06:33 AM I don't subscribe to a "Soul Mate" because I think all relationships need work. I think there may be someone who one finds intellectually, spiritually, emotionally on the same or similar wavelength but I think there comes a point in every relationship where conflict arises. That's when one may start to question whether that person is really your soul mate or if it was just really fucking good chemistry at the beginning, which I think it usually is. The initial spark of a relationship could vanish or evolve into something more balanced and stable. I also don't subscribe to the idea of a soul, and so I'd have to say I think there are people who find someone they are much better suited to, so I voted no. Cellar_Door 06-08-09, 06:34 AM You still haven't defined what you mean by the term 'soulmate'. In a purely figurative sense? Or else some predetermined and spiritual 'mate' we can never be truly happy without? Or perhaps something completely different? cosmictraveler 06-08-09, 06:48 AM Yes, and here she is.... http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2008/10/11/article-1076312-02EB01A300000578-50_468x525.jpg Killjoy 06-08-09, 09:30 AM ` What happens if you find a soul mate then sell your soul ? :bugeye: Orleander 06-08-09, 10:21 AM No, there are no such things as soul mates cluelusshusbund 06-08-09, 10:32 AM ..someone you can't live without. Then i dont have a sole-mate but i supose som people do.!!! Absane 06-08-09, 12:04 PM No, just those of the gender that you are attracted to and can tolerate the most. Bebelina 06-08-09, 12:10 PM I am personally offended by all the no-voters. cosmictraveler 06-08-09, 01:19 PM I am personally offended by all the no-voters. Shouldn't take things personally because many people do not believe in "souls" today. MacGyver1968 06-08-09, 04:10 PM The real purpose of this thread is that Darkie hasn't found a soulmate, and so wants everyone to tell him they don't exist, so he doesn't feel bad he doesn't have one. :) /end amatuer pychoanalisis Lucysnow 06-08-09, 04:30 PM Mean bastard:D takandjive 06-08-09, 05:22 PM Yes, but it's funny and true! I will always think of the ex as my soulmate. He's unforgettable. Luckily, I'm unforgettable, too, so he's screwed if he thinks he can forget me. (Take that, Sleekstak.) It didn't work out this lifetime, and that's okay. I'm anticipating that if there is reincarnation, we'll get a second chance. In the meantime, I get the chance to prove that theory of heartache wrong. I actually agree with Jessie that we meet a number of people who strike a chord deep within us. |
