5. yeah I don't know, if thats what it was supposed to mean it was pretty dumb, I think the fake world just became nice. And I think one of the main points was that there is no difference between the matrix and the real world anyway. It was a perfect replica in every way down to the last details, including the people(programmes).
Its a grim yet accurate conclusion, that people are organic machines that could theoretically be replicated and there would be no logical reason why the replica would be less worthy of rights than the real thing.
I hope thats what they were going for, if not I'm disappointed. All that love talk made me a little scared that they were wimping out. But Mr smiths final speach was so accurate that his death was insignificant and the fact remained that neo was a jackass for taking love so seriously.
Thats my take.

~not really sure. I think it has something to do with the fact that his Positive...his counterpart [Neo] was eliminated. The equation was balanced. Neo and Smith cancelled eachother out.

~The old man at the end was the Architect, which you saw in The Matrix: Reloaded. It was designed and created by him, with the help of the Machines, of course. But pretty much, he's the Overlord of it all.

~Oracle=Program

~Not really sure what you mean, but if you mean that the Matrix was dismantled and the Humans freed, I can't be sure. I think there was some ending question by the Oracle about "Will the other humans be freed?" "Of course."

2- Once he copied himself over Neo, the machines overwhelmed
Neo's body with energy and destroyed the One. This unbalanced
the One/Anti-One equation (I infer) and in order to rebalance it,
had to remove all anti-ones...
3- The machines. The architect is only a program tasked with
keeping the equations balanced.

5- The reality is that humans and machines really were in a war
but Neo's actions restored peace. Humans hooked into the matrix
will stay inside unless they learn of their "predicament" and can
leave at any time.

hey, didnt the architect in matrix 2 say that the one had to return to the source to reboot the matrix, therefore when neo, who was effectively half program, died, he returned to the source, hence the white light that burst out of the smiths.
As for the architect, they dont usually commission and own the buildings, they just design them. There is likley something up and beyond the architect, adn I dont think that talking head neo talked to before he jacked in to defeat smith is it, or rather, maybe it is, but then what exactly is the ultimate machine ruler?

just a thought.............it cant be the one/anti-one theory b/c if neo was to die anywhere else, such as the battle with smith outside the matrix, then smith would have to of been destroyed too as a result of the equation trying to balance itself. but it also cant that smith died b/c he assimilated neo and the was destroyed through him becuase that would mean when one died, all died.......and neo destroyed one smith onboard the logos...right? this stuff drives me nuts....

idea: perhaps it had something to do like when lightning hits a computer or something.........the power surg will destroy the entire program or something. its kinda hard to know when larry and andy are being philosophical or mechanical. what do you all think.

yeah any discrepancys are explained by the fact that its a movie. even if they are tring to be all philosphical and cover all the angles they cant cover everything- they would miss some situations (like gadgets')

You don't actually see Neo really die. It just looks like he is dead. He will probably return for the 4th installment.

And in case Keanu asks too much money they can still pretend he is dead. Or the whole crux is that everybody thinks he is dead, but he isn't, and he is some kind of program like person in disguise. Only to reveal his true identity in the end.
