Douglas Adams was one cool author. Affectionately known as "Bop Ad". I was so shocked to find he had died yesterday at the age of 49. I was hooked after reading "The Hitch-Hikers Guide to the Galaxy", he had such an original style. It's a book I can read again and again. Such a shame he died so young and so suddenly.

Douglas Adams was a great author. A friend of mine introduced me to him years ago. I have since read his guide series at least 3 times. Intriguing, funny, fun.
I will certainly miss the books that he never wrote.

That is sad.

The Guide was great fun. It was serialized on UK radio by the BBC back in the late 70s, and I have the series on audio tape. A TV series was also made and I have that on video as well. I haven't seen it available in stores though.

I've seen (and rented) The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy on tape at Video Galaxy (local video store, but it is out there) and it's not bad. Follows the book fairly well.

Unforunately the BBC won't sell the vid outside the UK and as far as I know it is only available in PAL format. I used to be a member of the Fan Club and was resonsible for the merchandising, including the videos!

He was ahead of his time. Read all the books and saw the vids. May he finally get the answer to the big question in the quantum reality....
