No one line replies please.

If you disappeared right this moment, do you think anyone you know would speak of you after twenty years?

You didn't die, you walked away, just dissapeared.

This is a yes or no question.
To expect anything more than a one word reply would be... unreasonable?

I expect most people to tack on the unspoken "why" part of the question, but since you didn't notice it, i'll have to assume others won't either, and add it in text.

along with your "one word answer" could you please explain why this is such?

When I disappear, it will be noticed only by my family members and close friends. I think one has to be older (have a career, etc) in order to be more noticed. I want people to notice my disappearance, I want to leave an impact on the world, I want to change someone's life. So far, only my close friends have felt that.

But then again, whoever holds up the world, he holds it up one person at a time (my line, dont use it).
By the way, there is a person(s) who hold up the world, in some mythology; does anybody know the name?

Sarge, You know it was a serious question. somebody do me a favor and make an answer; its really not worth starting a thread on, so if you know what im talking ab simply respond.

I don't know you. For me to expect anything other than what you've told me would be rude and presumptuous.

My family would, no doubt, remember me. In particular my mother and father. Given that they were alive in 20 years, I've no doubt she would speak of me.

I have a question for you. Why are you asking this question? Is the true motive to find a purpose in life? It's human nature to need a purpose, however, wouldn't it be truly sad to find out that ultimately we don't? It just wouldn't matter. Many cannot be content with what is.

:bugeye: I thought Atlas was the guy with with globe on his shoulder....
Guess I need to do a bit of catching up on my mythology huh?

Yup, my apologies, he does hold up earth and heavens.

So, my statement: Atlas holds up the world one person at a time.

The fact that you disappeared rather than died would shroud it in mystery, concern and curiosity to say the least.

That would make it more likely that people would still talk about it.

At least bring it up from time to time to tell people that haven't heard about it.

The least that would happen would be:
"Yeah, a cousin of mine just disappeared about 20 years ago. No one has heard from him since."
"Odd."
"Yeah."
"Huh. So, what's on TV tonight?"
