    Hi there,

I want to know is there any reaction possible between Silicon tetrachloride and toulene(dried over molecular sieves) in the presence of inert atmosphere of nitrogen

Since Silicon tetrachloride is not stable in presence of moisture in atmosphere. So i am making stock solution of Silicon tetrachloride in toulene 2ml in 50 ml toulene

Please let me know will Silicon tetrachloride will be stable or not ?

I am a first year chemistry undergraduate, and I would say that yes, it would probably be stable. Try it on a small scale first, though.

Think about it, the only reaction is the stealing of a proton from toluene, extremely unlikely considering toluene is an aromatic.
