What gives you the idea that I'm anti-Darkside? Look again, I was just commenting on all polls. Some are interesting, some aren't - but they all turn into discussion threads.

So, ignoring the people who stated that they have no opinion on the matter, the majority of voters want his polls dramatically curtailed.

I will be waiting in anticipation of this being actioned......

No, I simply say ban his god damn poll-creating.

If I had a choice between banning and disabling polls, I'd vote banning because that means the majority (who aren't abusing the feature) get to keep polls. It would also mean freedom from this dude's never-ending online saga.

If it were just a matter of extending every effort not to be unfair (as in- excessively lenient about it) and the choice was between creating new policy or disabling polls, I'd vote for disabling polls. Of course, this wont exactly solve the "Enfant Provocateur" problem.

There is the possibility of just picking 1 of ever 3 polls he posts (at random, of course) and deleting them.

It's simple. Just outlaw the number of threads you can post in an hour. Then outlaw the number of threads you can post in a day.

In terms of posts, I can only post one every 30 sec.

If there is no rule against threads flooding, he clearly is in no violation of rules against thread flooding.
