We're having a poll to say if we are sick of the polls?.. lol..

I won't point out the obvious irony.

I want his polls dramatically curtailed

Banning him would curtail the number of polls most effectively.

To quote old what's his name...

Out, Out, Damned Spot !

I mean~ that ain't what he was referring to...

Someone make a poll on this poll.

Oh sure darksidzz gets tons of leeway But as soon as I made a poll (http://www.sciforums.com/showthread.php?t=64420) the lock comes out!

What gives you the idea that I'm anti-Darkside? Look again, I was just commenting on all polls. Some are interesting, some aren't - but they all turn into discussion threads.

So, ignoring the people who stated that they have no opinion on the matter, the majority of voters want his polls dramatically curtailed.

I will be waiting in anticipation of this being actioned......

I voted "I don't care" because I want to leave it up to everyone else. Personally, I do not care for darksidZz's polls anymore. They can stay (the ones that are not trash). I could state what does need to go, but it's not the topic of this thread.

It wouldn't let me vote.
You cannot simply put a poll up about somebody.

1. Rules must be stated clearly in advance along with consequences for violating the rules.

2. If rule is violated, the consequence accompanies it.

It is unethical to single out a single person, and make rules up just for them. Rules apply to everybody. Either the person is violating or not.

The Internet is not real life. If you are so unhappy about the current state of the forum and it's "ethical violations," simply leave. Unplug.

Or better yet, how about you devise a list of rules and the moderators and admins will review them. Then maybe we can post them.

The assclown's latest poll is:

"Should We Feed Fat People?" in Human Science

He/she has quite clearly progressed to blatant trolling with these stupid polls. I understand that he/she was previously banned for spamming the forum with polls. In what way was that instance any different to now? If the previous banning was temporary, then this time around it should be permanent, yes? At what point does this occur? Why not now?

Polls should be banned from the entire site.

Correct. There has been no violation of any rules.

This thread is seeking opinions of sciforums members. On the basis of the opinions of members, policy about sciforums rules can then be formulated. The last step is to apply the new rules (if any).

If you are so unhappy and irrelevant, why don't you leave?
As it so happens nothing within your response changes the facts I presented.

or you could stop being such a caustic ass every time you sit down at your keyboard.
you spend more time complaining than actually posting about anything, even if it is meaningless.....just post something that isnt rude...just once.
just a thought that you probably wont take to heart.

If I had a choice between banning and disabling polls, I'd vote banning because that means the majority (who aren't abusing the feature) get to keep polls. It would also mean freedom from this dude's never-ending online saga.

If it were just a matter of extending every effort not to be unfair (as in- excessively lenient about it) and the choice was between creating new policy or disabling polls, I'd vote for disabling polls. Of course, this wont exactly solve the "Enfant Provocateur" problem.

Absane

There is the possibility of just picking 1 of ever 3 polls he posts (at random, of course) and deleting them.

As I have said, why don't you devise a set of rules for us? As it currently stands, no one else is going to do it... even the admins.
No ty.
It's simple. Just outlaw the number of threads you can post in an hour. Then outlaw the number of threads you can post in a day.

In terms of posts, I can only post one every 30 sec.

If there is no rule against threads flooding, he clearly is in no violation of rules against thread flooding.
