Should we have alternating logos?

Some of the logo ideas posted so far are absolutely brilliant and will make choosing just one of them very difficult. I suggest that we choose a number of the best ones and have them alternating either daily, weekly or monthly. Meanwhile, the creative amongst us could continue making new ones that could be used ad infinitum. What say you?

Change it for something more creative. The famous scientists idea rocks!

 

Maybe you could have a logo that changes depending on which subforum you are viewing, with the razory SF one as the main.

 

Maybe we should be able to choose our own personal favourite from a set in our profiles?

Or maybe I still don't care.

 

anybody who cares enough can change their logo every once in a while.

Why add administration work to cover something people should just do themselves if they care that much?

Also, now when someone changes their logo you notice, because you know they made that minimal effort for a reason, instead of it just being something that automatically happens.

EDIT - OOPS - I thought we were talking about member logos.

Re main site logo - there has to one that doesn't change - that is the purpose of a logo, i.e. branding.

 

It depends what direction the owners want to take the forum, if they want it to be more high profile and have formal advertising, a set logo is essential. other than that great idea.

 

I think that for a corporate identity the most important aspect is the actual SF/SciForums logo but the styling and backgrouind could change. Think of London taxi cabs and buses that are totally adorned with advertising, they're not black and they're not red but you can jolly well tell what they are (blimey; beginning to sound like Mr. A).

 

That would need a backround that was original, not like Earth (which is sooo 1970's)

 

Vote here and make your feelings felt before it's too late.

 

The earth background and a basic icon is alright, but it's just a little dull.

It doesn't have the smack in the face 'wow' factor.

Personally, I'd like it to be a bit more high tech. It is a science forum after all. Science is meant to be cutting edge
