` Geez, what rock have you been living under ? Between DHS, NSA and USAF Cyber Command, they probably know which hand your scratching your balls with while you're typing with the other ! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
` Oh, Pshaw ! Give them something to get excited about and go check out some Jihadi websites... or maybe the DPRK page. You could book a vacation there and make a fortune selling smuggled in Chee-tohs ! (ps - I did not say this... I was not here...)
The government is obviously already involved heavily in the internet. The proliferation of under- (or mal-) educated halfwits is evidence enough. Your government: putting incompetence into everyday life!
Actually when you are at home they can spy on you even better. They can listen in on your telephone conversations, know what magazines you read, what newspapers you subscribe to , what television programs you watch , who your friends are or in your case who aren't your friends and watch your mail to name but a few things they have access to when you sit at home.:itold:
I think the answer is clear, YES. Yes, the government should monitor the internet. Why? Because when I think of an office building full of bureaucrats being paid salaries to surf the web for a living, I think: My tax dollars are being well spent. In fact, I'd like to have that job. As it is I basically do it for free.
I don't think the gov't should monitor OUR internet...but they definiately should monitor YOUR internet, darkie...lord only knows the level of perversion on that hard drive....shit that would make the emperior Nero blush.. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
The internet is like public space, they would be foolish not to see what's going on out there. Someone has to keep Sciforums safe from the terrorists!
This is silly. The internet was designed by the US DOD. Who cares if they SHOULD. They DO. All the time. There's probably a military file in a big warehouse full of servers that has kept track of my every fart since birth.
Should the government be monitored by the internet? Actually, stupid politicians likely fear the internet. Now information isn't just controlled by predictably liberal corporate interests, but anybody and their brother, can "publish" most anything they want on the internet, and who can know how many copy-and-pastes and links can spread exposes who-knows-how-far? If I don't know who to vote for, I can google a would-be politicians name, and dig up the pros and cons, or the dirt circulating about him or her. Yeah, I would love to be paid to surf the internet all day, but not for the government, as what sorts of creeps might then be my boss? Maybe rather for some think tank, promoting certain issues that I generally tend to agree with. I agree with that poster who flipped the original question. Shouldn't we use the internet, as a tool to "spy" on the government? There's was a rather humous book that I bought some years ago, Bill Gate's Super Secret Laptop. Every two facing pages, was a laptop keyboard and its screen. The keyboards looked so real, but looking upon them carefully, had their own amusing jokes. One keyboard had the function keys all replaced with the Biblical plagues. Another had a rash of Control keys all around. On another, the Shift keys were replaced with "Buy Low," and "Sell High." One of my favorite monitor gags, was where Bill Gates activates the webcams in the White House computers, activates his lip-reading software, and catches Clinton saying something that he shouldn't.
Isn't it a bit "creepy," that these forum servers, often keep all of your posts around, "since the beginning of time?" Your posting history, is like a great public open book. Such a wild convergence of human intellect, like a huge experimental think tank! Isn't the internet great?
Fool! That last sentence should be: Someone has to keep Sciforums safe FOR the terrorists! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
The internet is provided by commerical providers, and therefore, we pay and we keep. Any unveiling of email, or website details should not be revealed. And no, the government should not watch the internet.. only the shakespeare sites.
