Interesting. I just now read an article (AP I think?) on my homepage about the Indian government setting up special orphanages for Indian female babies. It seems that because the Indian society discriminates against females so much that the female fetuses are aborted or the female babies killed at birth in great numbers. In many areas of India, women are little more than slaves ...worse maybe, in that they cost the family a lot to keep. The families can't pay the high dowry costs, so poor females will never marry and the family can't get rid of them! So slavery is not just about black Africans - Indian women are not much better off ...and slavery does, in fact, give them life! Baron Max

The parents who brought them into the world are the ones who caused them such misery ...which is exactly what I mentioned in my earlier post. If the rich nations of the world feel such people, they'll do nothing but make more of exactly the same type of people. About 50 years ago, while sitting in a bus station, I was shocked to hear from Indian lady, much older than me, essentially this. She clearly expressed the idea that food aid was just making more suffering in the long run. I have come to think that, if given, it should have some birth control agents in it.
Very interesting, Sam. But if you'd read my post AND your own, you'd have seen that we both said pretty much the same things. All we'd be doing is essentially putting those people into a form of slavery ...totally dependent on the rich nations buying goods which they can grow themselves at a cheaper cost. Nothing but charity in order to keep the poor fucking and making more fuckin' poor people which the rich will still have to feed!
