Dollars are a form of debt. Isn't it unwise to be paid in a form of debt?

All currencies are a form of debt, so what do you want to use instead?

I don't understand how a dollar is a form of debt. Can you explain it?

You can be paid in other services or goods. This is a barter system.

Pretty silly. What do you expect then, gold? Forget it. How about pigs, goats or dental service? Not me (or anyone else), thank you very little!!:bugeye:

When I read stuff like this, I wish we could give a section of the country to people who hold such beliefs and let them live out their fantasies there. My prediction, it wouldn't be long before they would be illegally crossing the border to get back in this country.

I thought Desi was eluding to the fact that the US public finances are running a large deficit and that the US has an enormous national debt. i.e. is it wise to hold US dollars on that basis. To which my response would be it depends on whether you expect the US dollar to strengthen or weaken. If you expect it to strengthen, you'd probably be quite happy to be paid in US dollars. If you expect it to weaken, you might be happier getting paid in a different currency i.e. Euros or Chinese Yuan. In the unlikely circumstances that your employer offers you the choice.
