I’ve just been awake all night with a migraine headache; the last time I had one was 2 years ago!
I had all the symptoms, nausea, photophobia which is freaky and because if I ignore the pain and try to look at things my eyes still can’t focus. It’s like being blinded by pain.

And photophobia, load noises just made me grit my teeth, and having people talking to me is irritating.
I think the thing that triggered it off was disturbed sleep patterns, I do shift work and it rotates so by the time I get used to starting early in the morning I have to switch to working nights.

On the change over day I take it as normal that I wont be able to sleep if I go to bed early so I don’t and only get 4-hours sleep.
After that first day I’m tired so I can fall asleep at an earlier time and after that it become a normal routine until I have to change again.
Towards the end of the 6 days I really start feeling tired when I get home, and the same goes for the night shift but I don’t find it as hard as starting early mornings.

The doctor told me that an indicator that a migraine coming on is seeing an aura, and if you do see one then you hit it hard and swallow a bunch of pill before the pain starts, but the thing is I didn’t see shit before I got this one.
Does anyone know if there are ways to know if ones coming on?

No one has anything to say about migraines? I'm astounded.

If your doctor doesnt know then i find it doubtful that we could add much. One thing i can say is that sleep patterns, most likely, have nothing to do with migraines.

I've only had one ever and of course it wasn't pleasant at all.
I did get an aura, which was very freaky, I thought I was having a stroke!
The only trigger I could pinpoint was drinking instant coffee. Needless to say I've never touched that crap again.

I used to get them more than I do now. It depends on where the migraine starts. It might often start with increased ear ringing, blurry vision, or everything smells metallic. I've actually learned to avoid them with a specific diet. If I feel them coming on I go out and I buy salmon and spinach - if I do it early enough (I could be fooling myself...it's impossible to say) the headache never occurs. If I do it slightly too late it just makes it less bad...and if I do it after it's occurring it just makes it end earlier.
