Here's my prior incident, which was a baseball analogy that went foul. Please don't let me be misunderstood. :bawl::bawl::bawl:
It's best to just ignore infractions and warnings, trying to make sense out of them is a fool's errand. I got a warning for calling riple a chode.
Something about ... um ... something. Or another. Er ... yeah. (chortle!) Awesome. Yes, that was an unfortunate occasion. The issue surrounding that particular member, though, was messy and more complex than it needed to be. It's one of those times we bent over backwards to accommodate bad faith. Still, in a contextually-challenged community like this, some risks aren't going to pay off. With the sheeny thing, as soon as I read the note on it logging the warning ... well, it wasn't quite a facepalm. But as with Sandy and the flies, we're in a bit of a mess right now trying to balance an assertion of civility between bad faith and people who are downright sick of it. And, sometimes, innocents get caught in the crossfire. I would invoke the diversity of moderating styles between individual moderators. Perhaps, were it my jurisdiction, you would have gotten a note that said, "What am I missing, here?" And maybe I would have received some complaints and felt obliged to do something. As it is, the line struck me as daring, even dangerous wordplay. But not all moderators will go through the preliminary steps that I sometimes take. With some members, I might just clear my throat and look expectantly in their direction, and they understand the point. With other members, nothing short of a bludgeoning in a back alley will have any useful effect. And while I would classify you with the former, it doesn't matter much if the relevant moderator isn't accustomed to such preliminaries and skips instead straight to the warnings, infractions, suspensions, and whatnot.
Little Eichmanns: Sometimes they just don't know what I mean, especially when I'm in an obscure mood. At least our mods are all dutiful and well-meaning. Point taken. God bless the Mods, and our Ace Faces, every clique and loner, bless us every one. /conciliation, contrition

Yeah, that one went over my head as well. Must be tough being Jewish, having to keep track of all those obscure insults.
It's a thorough education in PC here at SF. I stand so corrected, that I can't stand it. So I'm leaving this accursed thread forever, and you shiny if not happy people can't stop me.

Because it doesn't mean that... sheeny and asheeny are two completely different things. And it is a facepalm because of the justification put in this thread, not in the original warning. Both on the person who reported it and the person who took action. There is no way that that could be looked at objectively and still be misconstrued. Sometimes being too quick on the trigger can have bad side effects. You can't seriously have read it, looked it up and still given a warning for hate speech. Hate speech against glitter maybe.
Wank on you, you crazy diamond .... Er, maybe not. And well you should have. I'll keep that in mind if you continue to insist on being a wanker.
Interesting. Your post was visible from 'outside' the site, but not when logged in. Still, I would hardly be surprised. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Hmm. Deleted it or set it up so it's not visible to me? Either way: ethical, I'm sure. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
