http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16504209/ Sheehan, in Cuba, protests Guantanamo

HAVANA - American “peace mom” Cindy Sheehan called for the closure of the U.S. military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, as she and other activists arrived here Saturday to draw attention to the nearly 400 terror suspects held at the remote site.

Sheehan is among 12 human rights and anti-war activists who will travel across this Caribbean island next week, arriving at the main gate of the Guantanamo base in eastern Cuba on Thursday — five years after the first prisoners were flown in.

“Anyone who knows me, knows that I am not afraid of anything,” Sheehan said when asked about the possibility of U.S. sanctions for traveling to communist-run Cuba, which remains under an American trade embargo.

"she is not liked in the wider US"

That's hitting below the waistlines. It's not polite to demonstrate that most American warfans are both fat and stupid.

Sheehan is non-partisan and anti-war. I challenge you to prove she has ever said she's a democrat.

No, she just opposes the war in Iraq, and secondly the Bush administration. That does not make her a liberal.

So it seems like you have a division in your family.

SHEEHAN: Those are on my husband's side of the family. And we've always been politically on different sides of the fence. I have always been a Democrat and they have always been Republicans, so we've always had a good-natured kind of debate within that family.

OK, well done.

"she's just such a libral"

Well, now we know she's a Democrat. But could you provide examples of Sheehan's "libral" views beyond her anti-war activism, NeoCon? I don't know much about her politics, other than the obvious aspect that she wants our troops out of Iraq.

I expect you must have more criteria for liberalism than opposition to the occupation of Iraq. But if that's all it takes in your view, then it must seem alarming to you that a number of leading Republicans are turning "libral" in that sense.
