I have been called shallow a few times. The reason why it stuck with me is because the people who accused me of being shallow did not even KNOW what SHALLOW means.

Why did shallow Al the crappy movie use this in the title when it has more too do with intellect then how you percieve a women?

You can gain 'knowledge' and not be intellectually deep or wise.

Knowledge is what you know, as in facts. Wisdom and intellect is completely different. Shallow and deep has nothing to do with knowledge. Anyone can learn many 'facts' and still be extremely shallow.

No I have always been full of crap. I have the slight advantage maybe that I am embedded into the scientific world and I can observe deep and shallow thoughts personally. During the process of reviewing a paper for a journal this relationship between shallow and deep often comes floating to the intellectual surface.
The conclusions in a paper are usually very simple. However, that is not how they are mostly displayed. Layers of pretentiousness are added until the simplicity is transformed into deep intellectual thought. That is, the authors think it has been transformed into something deep. What they really did is transform something beautiful and shallow into a piece of shit. Let us therefore not glorify the 'deep'. Most people can't handle 'deep'.
