Hello All Wanting to see what all the fuzz is about I joined second life(it's free) today and then it occurred to me, why should i be the only one to suffer enjoy from my bad good decisions, it doesn't seem right having exclusive rights to my decisions, so in the sprite of sharing here is a link for signing up https://secure-web0.secondlife.com/join/?u=053299292aa444c9853ae5a3a463ddee and yes it's a referral link
I got kicked and banned so many times from that game because I spent more time pissing people off than actually doing anything useful.
I think I once had an account there a long time ago. What a waste of time, I used it for a few hours before not returning again.
You could do like I did and build houses to trap people in... Or build walls around the teleporters so people get stuck in those.. or just build a cube in them and cause their system to glitch...
OK that was 1 psychotic game, i will just go put my head in the blender hoping it will erase my memory, be right back...
There's another thread about this in the computer subforum, albeit a serious one. Anyway, yeah. It's a bit boring really. I did the 'enter your paypal info for free linden dollars' thing, which I hope hasn't been charged anything. I spent far too long on the initiation island, which is a major pain in the arse. Within a few minutes I made my character a fat naked lady with manly features. After trying to buy the services of any 'lady' walking past for a bit, I went to a 'casino' and played some slotmachines, which were obviously rigged. Then I went to a stripclub, which was interesting. I got bored pretty quickly and haven't played it again since. Stryder altered my image in the other thread, so I'll paste his warning.
oh and if any one by any chance followed the link in my opening post and signed up, are you completely insane, following advise or ideas coming from the likes of me!
i can understand the fun in tricking people, but the game, it's only aiding people in escaping from the real world, it's really wierd.
The open-endedness (if that's a word) is quite impressive. I like the idea of tourist destinations being recreated in SL. It's quite cool to see buildings people have designed in, what in RL would be an amazing landscape. With advances in technology it could become even more appealing to waste your life away on there.
