They're trying to actually tax a virtual world called Second Life. Users can login and play as characters then use real money to buy virtual goods, it's actually popular and growing. The thing about it is the government wants to tax the goods that are sold in this virtual world?! wtf they're smoking nobody knows but I sure would love some too!

Lets see, the govt. taxes the company making the products, the employees

working everywhere along the line, the company selling the products, the

shipping company, the advertisers, and the people who haul this stuff

around so why does it want more taxes?

What sickens me about this cosmictraveler is the fact they're actually saying virtual goods and such have a value that is taxable, try wearing that fake shirt you buy in the real world and then we'll see what's what!

I am appalled and generally disgusted with this nation right now, I wouldn't have thought something like this were possible but it basically makes me want to throw up. I can't understand nor do I want to understand the minds that would create such an uproar over money changing hands in a videogame, even if it's real money the goods aren't!

Good luck with your lives everyone because this certainly can't spell out a good future for the US.
