Is there anyway that I can reassign the scroll wheel on my mouse to a key press?
In mouse options I can change all the buttons to a key press but not the scroll wheel, I wonder is there any way to do it.
I'm using a Microsoft laser mouse 6000.
Thanks in advance.

You might have to play with third-party applications designed for assigning hotkey's
Sites like http://hot-key.qarchive.org/ have a few on offer, however make sure you check the programs with an anti-virus tool before using etc.
It is possible to buy keyboards with a Scroll wheel on them, something like:

I'm not suggesting you go out an especially buy one but it's worth a look none the less.

Thanks, but what I'm after is a way to make it that when I scroll the wheel one notch it registers a key stroke instead. Not the other way round.

Ah that will be mouse driver related. There might be some programs out there however they are more than likely made to use the Generic mouse drivers.
