Sciforums vs. Digg/Reddit

    Although they are kind of different then Sciforums, there is a huge overlap of the subjects covered on these websites. The advantage of D/R over Sci is that there are more and smarter people there and there is a more in depth/detailed coverage of the topic than here. But that is also what makes me not wanting to participate, by the time I read a thread/topic there are so many responses that my POV most likely has already been expressed thus there is no point for me to post there.
    Thus I am only a passive reader of those sites. Also, the too many responses can be a hiddrance, after a while I just give up on reading the thread because it is way too long...
    Although I have been using them for 2+ years I never bothered signing up or figuring out how the site actually works. That karma collection looks too childish to me, just like harvesting imaginary strawberries on Facebook.

    Any users or thougths??
