I was wondering...among the common posters, and people that post to one another and know eachother's posts...could sciforums act as a professional network of contacts of sorts? I know most of us haven't met in the real, but if one member needed some type of employment that another member could provide a contact for the person in search of work? Could one count his fellow sciformers as professional contacts, or no?

I'm curious. I'd say no, because for the most part people are students or retired..

Over the time I have been here there have been several that have contacted me on job conditions, ect in the general area that I live in. Even students have some general idea of that.

There is not much that hasn't transpired here at sciforums, if you could just read all the pm's. (No I do not have that ablitily and if I did the flood of pm's would simply be too much)
