A number of members have become quite hostile to moderators on this forum and it appears to be a pattern that only occurs when people are monitoring over when people are just normal posters. I suggest that Sciforums declares in the near future an Unofficial "Non-Authoritarian Week"

During such a week, should we not like your tone, your posts or even your face we will be unable to censor you until the end of that week.

Should we be a little less lenient we'll just move your threads to cesspool.

One week of FUN for all members over the weeks of torture for us having to deal with moderating your junk. This single week of contrast I believe would be a good learning aid to those that just don't get the policies that SciForums has committed to in the past and perhaps wake you up to reality "what would it be like without moderators."

As for the poll, how soon should it occur?

I've actually thought about this a few days ago before Stryder came up with the opposite plan. The only problem I can think of is that after the week is over, how do we go about cleaning up the mess that results?

However, I think it would take a month or more before the serious consequences of pure anarchy shows itself. At first everyone is for peace and love and everything is great. After a while, all the bullies come out without fear and fuck it all up.

However, it only takes a couple of hours of authoritarian rule for everyone to learn just how bad it really is.

I say, instead of focusing on a week of what it's like to have what everyone THINKS they want, I say we focus our attention on a week of pure hell and mayhem. That way, we all learn what we DON'T have and what we DON'T want.

I get complaints both ways, moderation is too lax, moderation is too strict...

It is both, therefore eliminating it for 1 week will serve to demonstrate both to moderators as well as members the importance of it, should it prove its importance :o
