View Full Version : Sciforums Unofficial Authoritarian Week
Stryder 06-04-07, 01:14 AM Since a number of you posters have become quite hostile to moderators on this forums and it appears to be a pattern that only occurs when people are moderators over when people were just normal members. I suggest that Sciforums declares in the near future an Unofficial "Authoritarian Week"
During such a week, should we not like your tone, your posts or even your face we will just outright ban you until the end of that week.
Should we be a little more lenient we'll just move your threads to cesspool, delete threads we don't like, Edit your threads to say what we wanted you to say which of course we'll ban you should you override a mod edit and otherwise enforce all those loathsome qualities that posters seem to think moderators possess.
One week of FUN for us moderators over the 51 weeks of torture of having to deal with the likes of "suppressed envisionments of a liberalist mentally divergent state". The one week of contrast I believe would be a good learning aid to those that just don't get the policies that sciforums has committed to in the past and perhaps wake you up to reality.
As for the poll, Which week should it occur?
I think that this would be both fun and informative. I'm in it mostly for fun. Of course, I promise that any threads or posts I delete during this period will be fully restored :)
God, this place is now transmogrifying into some sort of weird finishing school. I, uh, seem to recall a proposed banner/logo of that nature…

i call a spade a spade, if they don't like it fuck 'em.
as far as when the week starts it can start NOW.
redarmy11 06-04-07, 03:42 AM I also regret the lack of a NOW option.
Sputnik 06-04-07, 03:45 AM Everybody needs a week of fun ..........
but , please do it with a bit of humour ........;)
Ja, das ist gut. Sieg heil!
Athelwulf 06-04-07, 04:24 AM Oh fucking... Why did you have to pick those dates?
In two weeks, I'll be en route to Portland. In one month, if everything goes according to plan, ich muss nur Deutsch sprechen. In September, well, that's just too fucking far off. I might forget and miss it.
And next week is finals week. And mid-ish August is kinda far off too. Damn it. :(
domesticated om 06-04-07, 09:48 AM I voted "1 month from the date of this posting". 1 month seemed like a nice round figure............well, there's that, and the fact that it gives me the opportunity to stock up on victory gin. I'll need it to help doubleplus-reinforce the belief that users who've turned up missing never existed.

Instead of working out ways to REACT to this hostility AND do what modern Doctors do and just treat symptoms, why not address the source of the complaints. WHY are you getting so many complaints? ADDRESS them not the viewing voting public! Get your house in order.

Source of the complaints? That would be you, yes?
I like this suggestion, I voted 1 month because then most, with a little luck, will have forgotten about allowing us to see multiple bans across the spectrum.
avatar have you stopped to ponder that she might have a point?
And especially the corrupt posters should be punished; those that avoid bannings and troll arguments.
In fact, I believe so strongly in this that I'm going to get on my sockpuppets and vote for it a couple more times. Heck, a few more times.
Ooooo-er.
Bad idea, I think... maybe an Authoritarian Weekend? But no... on the whole, I think that more bad than good would result.

A weekend might be good.
Maybe for just one forum or group of forums... maybe the World forums?
And Free thoughts, and Religion.

Oh god.. do you have any idea what kind of asshole I could become for that time period :D There so much stuff I hate to read... but I have no right to do anything about.
Heh.
Well, nobody says the mods can't have some fun out of it. ;)
Sputnik 06-07-07, 03:42 AM We would be disappointed, if you didnīt make it funny ....:)
This is your great chance mods .............:m: :p
Killjoy 06-07-07, 09:22 PM Ooooo-er.

It would mean less time having to avoid the joint while "WhimFest" was going on.
