Yes, I wonder that too Shrike, but I have some ideas of who it can be..
Welcome Fluxnumen.
I glanced at your site, looks good, but why have you drawn a picture from a picture?

Great Tristan, good pictures!
I will not have time to make any new pictures for this competition.
Too bad, because I really like competing..sometimes. Maybe some old ones will do? What does the picture-competition-judge says?

:)

aghrrrrrrrrrrrr and I have no scanner.
Well I'll try to make a copy in Paint Shop Pro.
Give me time , give me time.
This will be my winter exam week. have no time have no time
But everything should be over by 18th december so I'll have 4 days to draw.
FCK, I forgot, have my Taekwon-Do exam on 22. That means about a day, but if I work hard it could be done.
Wish me luck.

most of my work is from life, or photos I take of models I employ.

Egon Schiele is among my favorite artists, though, and I am doing a series of paintings/drawings inspired by his work. Replicating his work through my own filter is invaluable for learning, not to mention his style is different than my natural one, so pushes me, too. :)

Pollux V

I'm still waiting for the second to load, but the first is gorgeous, beb! Due to the 'nice' turnout of this contest I think that we'll have to vote using the post reply button, since on polls the maximum number of options can be ten.

The second one just loaded. Great, beb, everyone's is just awsome.

Shrike,
I just lifted the restriction on # of options per poll.

Bebe, awesome stuff.

It took me almost a year, but I completed this work on the ceiling of my garage about a week ago.

Pollux V
12-11-01, 06:26 AM
(dorky voice) oh machaon, ith that weal? Cauth that would be weally spethial if it wath.

Oh ha ha machaon. I think you have some serious untapped talent.

Thanks for removing that restriction, porfiry. Is there any limit now?

Chill out for shrikes sake! Life is short. And yes, if I had any real artistic talent, I would reproduce the Sistine Chapel in my garage. Except that I do not have a garage. Nor a car. Nor a desire to operate one.

The Tyger
Tyger Tyger, burning bright,
In the forest of the night;
What immortal hand or eye,
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

They are all really good but where do we vote??

fluxnumen
12-11-01, 08:28 PM
muliboy, I really enjoy your burgess reference, would like to know the rest of the tale behind those ... very cool

here is my newest piece, Cherry Blossom. Just finished it today, it's 24" x 48" acrylic.

http://www.artistnation.com/members/lofts/jnet11/heinrich_CherryBlossom.jpg

and a detail at closer to true color is the attachment

I hope the 'voting' isn't keeping people from uploading images, I like to see what people are up to!

Bebelina
12-12-01, 07:20 AM
Nice, is it a self-portrait?

I feel it would be unnecessary to upload all of my pieces here, since they are to find at my homepage.

I will only put things that arenīt there, here.

How long have you been painting, fluxnumen?

:)

Pollux V
12-12-01, 07:44 AM
odin everyone has until the 24th to submit their three images. After that we vote for...awhile. It's the first post of this thread just check it out and pm me if you have any questions.

That goes for everyone!

Merlijn
12-12-01, 11:47 AM
I think most of the submitted drawings are very well done!
it will be hard to decide who to vote for... :)

MuliBoy
12-13-01, 09:57 AM
Yes, all me heads are getting mucho big :D
Thanks.

Nice one flux. Very organic :)
Only some of my pics have stories to them. I like pop iconography and try to express something with the attached meaning of the subjects.
Some are just vapid :D

Oh!
I don't know how to draw good pictures!!!
My pictures are too bad!:(

Looking forward to the upcoming pictures!!!:D

Stryder
12-16-01, 02:52 AM
Okay, I'm not going to hide up and not show any of the things I've done (be they oh so small)
I did all of these over 2 years ago, when I wasn't concerning myself with other things

This first one was just something I slapped together with Corel 3d for a website (But I never got my virtual barman together.)

Stryder
12-16-01, 02:59 AM
Heres one I created by looking at a 2 cm heigh illustration that was in ink (black ink and shaded only)

"View at you peril"

Stryder
12-16-01, 03:02 AM
The last in my trilogy... it's amazing the things you do when your bored wittless, for some reason I decided to draw my hand (Colours and all)... almost looks real, apart from what ever I was trying to do with the finger.

Bebelina
12-16-01, 09:32 AM
Those were funny Stryder. What were you trying to do to your hand? It looks like itīs being jammed with a toothbrush. :D

Pollux V
12-16-01, 11:31 AM
I like the hand the best, stryde. It looks...surreal, like a cartoon figuring out hes just a cartoon. Gosh diddly darnit (ah hyuch) I don't know what Ai'm talkin about!

Don't worry, banshee, as of today you have another week and-a-day to get your pics posted. I'll consider extending the deadline if nothings been posted in another week.

Pollux V
12-23-01, 10:16 AM
AN ANNOUNCEMENT:

Everyone, today is the day BEFORE the contest ends. Anyone who has any works in progress or is having trouble getting there pictures onto the forums should contact me for an extension. Tomorrow I'll post a new thread for voting on the drawings.

Happy Hunting!

Banshee
12-23-01, 03:49 PM
Stryder, great pics. Why don't you send the demon pic to Tony1? I'm sure he will be pleased with it...;)

Shrike, I don't make it. It doesn't work out for me the way I want. I am real sorry.

Perhaps the next time.

I'll be here to vote though. Talk to you tomorrow.:)

[f]
12-24-01, 01:30 AM
everyone has done such cool stuff....i feel weird putting up something i didnt "draw" lol

but oh well....here ya go

http://mars.wtfisup.com/graphics/fbig.jpg

careful, it's on the big side, file-size wise.

Pollux V
12-24-01, 07:55 AM
gorgeous picture, [f], if your current avatar wasn't already as awsome as it is I'd recommend you'd shrink that picture down and use THAT one as an avatar.

By the way, I'm not a shrike impostor or anything I asked dave to change my name and he did, so from now on I'll be known as Pollux V.

Merlijn
12-24-01, 03:26 PM
I was wondering: is there going to be an overview page of the drawings? e.g. Thumbviews?

Teri
12-25-01, 08:29 AM
That's a great idea.

How about it everyone? Can that be put together?

Cheers,
Teri

Banshee
12-25-01, 06:33 PM
When do we vote, oh Pollux V???;)

And Merlijn has a good point. Overview page please...

Can you still post drawings?

The scanner won't work well. It is a little impossible to post drawings without that rotten scanner.

Will you please let me know Pollux V?:)

[f]
12-25-01, 09:37 PM
i can put up a quick page of thumbs for the duration of the voting.
let me look into making that.

wet1
12-25-01, 09:44 PM
That was rather nice [f]. I think it is a matter of talent not media. The world of art is made up of a wide variety of medias and formats.

Had I such talent I would have entered something. As it is, I have enjoyed the submissions of all. My thanks to those who have given us such viewings over the holidays. I eagerly await the voting.

[f]
12-26-01, 12:03 AM
i can only leave this up until the voting is through as i have a kind friend loaning me some bandwidth....but its workin

i agree Wet1, it's been nice lookin at peoples talents...instead of reading them.

http://mars.wtfisup.com/sciforums/index.htm

in a way its kind of mean to vote...because everyone does some cool work....and well.....i couldn't pick if i had to lol

Pollux V
12-26-01, 02:23 PM
bansheeeeeeeeeeeeeee
you said you couldn't! I'm about to post the page! I just did-but if you REALLY want to you can and I'll edit the poll when they're posted.

Sorry for taking so long, I was preoccupied with the holidays! Gee wizzums...

Merlijn
12-28-01, 04:23 PM
Thanks [f].
