View Full Version : SciForums Quiz
Plazma Inferno! 02-20-07, 04:51 PM Hi all!
What do you think about having a quiz on SciForums?
We have an engine that could be easily implemented in forum system. Each member could provide questions for that quiz.
It would be fun to have unique quiz on our forum, for members and guests, don't you think?
Anyway, here is example of that engine

(Warning: Don't click on Oprah if you're too sensitive! :D )
redarmy11 02-20-07, 05:09 PM The timer's annoying, the noises are annoying and there are far too many questions on crappy American singers that I've never heard of.
Increase the time allowed or dispense with it, get rid of the noises, don't include quite so many lowbrow questions and dispense with the cultural bias... and I'm sure it'll be good fun.
§outh§tar 02-20-07, 05:17 PM This isn't Myspace.
At least layout wise. Dunno about intelligence level..
Plazma Inferno! 02-20-07, 05:18 PM Thanks for suggestions!
As I said, that engine is just an example, of course that all could be modified: questions, noises, timer,...
New features could be added also.
Point is to make our own quiz, with questions which are adapted for SF members.
spidergoat 02-20-07, 05:22 PM Like this one?

phonetic 02-20-07, 06:46 PM That was intensely annoying. Sounds like a good idea as long as you promise not to use those sounds, or at least have an option to mute.
spuriousmonkey 02-21-07, 12:51 AM Could be fun, but I am a bit overloaded with work.
Nikelodeon 02-21-07, 01:27 AM I think the timer should be shorter, with the ticking sounds getting louder and louder until a loud alarm rings. Oh and a few more questions on obscure American singers.

Nikelodeon 02-27-07, 11:32 AM Thats right.

agree.
the user should be able to select how many questions they get and possibly the catagory

tablariddim 05-11-07, 07:36 AM Spidergoat's type of quiz was kinda fun, but really, what's the point? If we want to find a quiz we can just google it. Moreover, unless there were a number of qizzes that changed regularly, it would get rather boring after a week or so.
PS: merely opening that link has left some voice sample blathering, 'Ahh you and me baby, you and me baby,' on my computer:mad:

Well, that link is just a example of quiz engine. It could (and would) be changed.
Idea was that SciForums members make unique quiz based on that engine.
But, I guess this idea is obsolete now. No one gave affirmative answer about engagement.
Just a thread necromancy.
thanks for the effort tho
you are a good man
cosmictraveler 08-28-07, 05:59 PM Why not make up strange and bizarre questions that no one really knows the answers to and the one that answers it with the best answer will be electrocuted at dawn?:D
Randwolf 05-27-08, 09:54 AM Well - it was an idea...
