No question, that would be a kick ass movie! Also Foundation by Isaac Asimov...... I also think Saturns Race would kick butt too.

    Otherland by Tad Williams

I also think the Foundation Series would be f'ing great. Maybe even as trilogy or more.

Your wish is their command! They are making the movie.

Ex-New Line Cinema founders Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne have moved on to become producers and they've just set up their first project. The two will produce an adaptation of Isaac Asimov's Foundation, an epic sci-fi story that was first published in 1951. Asimov actually wrote a complete series of Foundation books, however Shaye and Lynne only plan to adapt the first book for now and if successful, potentially finish off a trilogy like they did with Lord of the Rings. The complexity and scope of the story has been problematic for other producers, however these two are confident that they'll put something worthy together. Shaye explains "this is not a script you can knock out in six months." Certainly true!

    Yay!

And I digg'd Otherland and found out they are working on a MMO for Otherland for 2010 release. The screenshots don't look awful, and it has potential. Might be very interesting.

My 1st thought was Stranger In A Strange Land. Foundation was 2nd. Seems to me nearly certain they'll be ruined tho.

Since Ender's Game is being made, I'd like to see the Forever War.

    Foundation series
    Lucifer's Hammer
Peter F. Hamilton's Reality Disfunction trilogy (would work best as a Sci-Fi channel TV show, a'la Battlestar Gallactica)
    Timothy Zahn's Star Wars trilogy

Also, I concur with Lucifer's Hammer and Swan Song. Both fantastic apocalyptic books.
I'd quite like to see the World War 2.0/Axis Of Time trilogy by John Birmingham made as a BSG-stryle series, as well as the similar Worldwar books.
