Search for online proxies.

This is a simple trick. No one blocks google, right?
riku_124 10-06-06, 01:00 PM well, apperntly my school does, cause it says BLOCKED whenever i lcik hte link......
i needa online proxy thatdoesent havve the owrd proxy anyhwrre, and one konw of such a site?
thedevilsreject 10-06-06, 01:43 PM i have that at school too, bastards
Communist Hamster 10-06-06, 01:49 PM Explain that it is intelligent discussion, reason with him to unblock it. Don't try using a proxy, because he'll get pissed off and block the proxy, and likely never unblock SF.
If that fails, well you'll just have to not browse SF in school.
Nikelodeon 10-06-06, 01:50 PM whenever i lcik hte link......
Is that some kind of dance?
riku_124 10-06-06, 02:10 PM the thing is, no one knows who the amdins are, and there are non in my school itself
Voodoo Child 10-06-06, 06:18 PM http://www.samair.ru/proxy/ has a list of anonymous proxies.
Although your school may block by content and not by IP. I told Porfiry those "teen slut" meta-tags would be a problem.
the thing is, no one knows who the amdins are, and there are non in my school itself
Take a piss on a server and see who shows up to fix it. Seriously, you have little chance of getting this fixed. No one ever got fired from a school for blocking too many sites. But OTH, everyone knows the Interweb is a series of tubes that Senators use to send explicit Internets to boys. Hence the "nuke them all from space. It's the only way to be sure" policy.
It sounds like the IT may be contracted out. If so, you'll have to get someone at your school with the appropriate authority to phone the IT company. This will take up a few hours of their day, trust me.
phonetic 10-06-06, 07:17 PM Try using sciforum's ip address instead of the www.

Stryder 10-07-06, 10:59 AM It is likely that the Domain name has been blocked by a Company that specialises in securing internet connections in schools, colleges and universities. Simply it's contracted out to an external blocker that is more than likely part of the ISP contract.
These services work on the basis that if a number of schools eventually block a certain site then all those using the Default "Block what everyone else is blocking" will start blocking that site too.
This is why in some cases there is no single administrator to run to to bail you out of that site you used to blog or game on etc.
Finding any sort of online proxy thats free won't be easy, since if it's free and open it's bound to be in use and it's bound to have some serious traffic flowing through it generating an overall slowdown. Transparent proxies I can assume will be even harder to find. You have to remember Bandwidth costs money to someone.
Also even if you do manage to get a proxy to connect, there is always the problem that if the network cache of the school is checked against things that are supposedly banned (which means there is at least one connection with full access), you'll find what ever proxy you use banned too.
riku_124 10-09-06, 11:47 AM how do i get the IP adress's of websites?
Voodoo Child 10-10-06, 12:04 AM at the command line: nslookup sciforums.com
Won't work most likely
TomWelling 10-17-06, 05:41 AM IP isn't really appropirate!
