I've been perusing newsmax.com after hearing about it on Talkback Live from a dried up conservative, and I have not been disapointed. It's like looking at this forum in a mirror. It is the perfect opposite of liberal thinking, and what's more is that these people at least make the attempt to have their claims seem legitimate. Take this fellow for example. The man is insane.

I was under the impression that our president for most of the war was fairly liberal, but, hell I guess I'm just a potsmoking liberal:m:<-that, btw, is the first time I have used the pot smiley

Savage contradicts himself in the second paragraph. If he didn't want war then he wouldn't be an advocate of it. Period. So he's obviously lying. The second paragraph makes me want to tear out my hear, because, whenever there is an accident or some kind of hostile military operation, the first thing you hear is "fifty people have died, including ten Americans." Not "fifty people have died, including five Italians." He is just dead wrong.

Further evidence for his recieving the title of "total asshole." He seems to have a well established black and white picture of the world, because we all know the difference between a radical muslim terrorist and a patriot for the US who happens to be of Arab descent. We could have rounded them all up and then done what with them? Throw them in internment camps, forsake their trials, what next, Savage?

I question this man's ability to think logically.

Again, the title of the book suggest a black and white picture of the world, with no in-betweens. It's been my experience, although I could be wrong, that there isn't a single student in my High School that wouldn't enjoy sexual activity at any second during the day.

He goes on to say that he would put US troops on our borders to cease immigration, that liberals have gone insane since 9/11, and that migrant workers cost more than they produce. I had heard of people like this fellow, he's somewhat of a myth, a forgotten legend on ultra~liberal MDI (my place of residence). Sort of like a bedtime story to scare your kids--"Retain your sanity, or else you'll turn into a conservative and start herding people into concentration camps!" I think I'm going to frequent this site for a long time to come, hopefully none of it will rub off on me. The only good thing that could come of it would be a conservative mod, rather than two liberal ones.

    Ooh, exciting

"Are you sick of eating turkey burgers and sprouts? Sick of forcing gallons of water down your throat? Sick of exercising until you can hardly breathe? Find out why vegetarians actually die younger, why there is no benefit to drinking gallons of water, why you should keep your cholesterol level above 200."

this is what i found on that site at first glance. all i can say is wow.
it's interesting to see what the other side of the coin is. even if i can't find two words that i agree with.

Alright, reading that just made me angry.

" We have already lost 3,000 civilians, but the liberal media is more concerned about the potential loss of Iraq civilians than the death of our own civilians. "

first off, IRAQ HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH 9/11 and second, we have killed over 500,000 Iraqi civilians since the gulf war. 9/11 is TRIVIAL in comparison, if any country should be bombed for killing civilians its US

    Pollux V,
The occasional perusal of the rabid conservative media can be enlightening, they say openly what the mainstream corporate media only hints at, its the voice of those who run our country.Just be careful not to lose the ability for independant thought.
The comments posted by the sites readers shed even more light on the conservative mindset. For example at the the freerepublic link below there was an anti-Jesse Jackson article to which the helpful readers had added doctored pictures of Rev. Jackson speaking at a funeral that had him eating watermelon and fried chicken.

Here are some particularly outragous ones

-I just learned of this one from Balder1's thread here http://www.sciforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=17712

There's a difference between "wanting" war and realizing the necessity of it.

To be honest, Asguard, I never said I agreed with what the US is doing. IMHO, it is insane to do what shrub has in mind without the approval of the UN.

It just seems that most of the time I hear a lot of run down of the US. I do notice that when someone runs down Australia that the Aussies usually team up together when it comes to that subject. The same is true when someone runs down Canada. I would expect nothing less.

It should not be hard to understand that while we do not necessarily agree with what shrub has in mind, we too love our country.

People are people. Many have found that people across the world can work together, get along, and find much to be admired in other individuals from around the world.

It is the governments that always seem to be the problem.

wet1 to be fair to ME look up any of my posts conected with john howard

i have been as critical of my goverment as you have ever been of yours

i dont think the PEOPLE living in the US are bad (apart from the fact that a country must take responcability for the leaders it votes for) but this is how you are PERCEVED here and i would probably see you the same way if not for knowing you

your countys PR is like zero, and ALOT of times i have tried to debate the war on iraq and come up against 3000 of us died and u care about iraq

it makes it REALLY hard NOT to tar you all with the same brush

i know there are alot of people who disagree with the way the US goverment is going, but if an educated person finds it really hard to separate people from goverment then how do you expect the uneducated in palistine, afganistan ect

thats why saying "they are just religiouse fanatics" drives me up the wall, there is a reason behind it and ignoring that reason will only lead to more death on both sides
