This word "Perspective" according to the Oxford English dictionary has the following relevant meaning:
"3. a mental view of the relative importance of things"

The ability to keep things in perspective is such a hard ability to learn and maintain. The question of sanity is very relevant to the maintaining of perpective.

So often as a society and as an individual we struggle to keep a balance or perpsective on "things".

What is happening in Iraq at the present time is a good example of the struggle to find perspective and therefore sanity.

AS a general question why do you think perspective is so hard to achieve and maintain?

Because perspective is subjective and therefore hard to quantify
or put an absolute meaning on: hence the trouble associated w/
religious or political discussions. It's one thing to be at peace but
another to be in agreement with others in regards to such things.
I prefer to steer clear from arguments that have zero objective
value... like this.

I agree..... there's no such thing as global perspective; each individual has one's own, and most of the time, it's unique.
