This to the people who say rap is crap. What do you think about these insightful Rock & Roll lyrics.

So should all Rock Music be judged based on extreme cases? Sure why not, that's how Rap music is judged so it's fair to say that Rock is satanic.

Welcome to my room my dear I'll show you a good time
It's too bad that you never heard my fetish is a crime
There's no need to worry bitch, just lay there and relax
And as you reach your climax I'll be reaching for my axe!!
CHORUS:
With five easy slices, you're in six lovely pieces
Bodily dismemberment as passion increases
So you wanna play games do ya?
Well just who do you think you're fucking with!
You see I've learned everything the hard way
Yes I've been through hell and back
And I believe the time has come to show you why you're here
You see the weapon in my hands and you know your death is near
When I tied your hands and feet you thought it was exciting
But now you know you cannot stop, your body's disuniting
CHORUS
Who's laughing now you fool?
You had your chance, and that's it!
Expect no mercy from this maniac
Well you're fucking history bitch!
First I'll slice your tender leg off just above the thighs
Then I remove your slender arms my passion running high
Last I will decapitate your pretty little head
A masterpiece of blood and flesh lies twitching on my bed
CHORUS
Why do you make me do these things?
When you know I never wanted to hurt you
But no, you wouldn't listen, would you?
Well you stupid fuck, look at you now!

Condemned To Hell
Rigor Mortis

I knew my destination from my moment of birth
I'd live my life my own way and wreak havoc on Earth
Through my entire childhood most everyone could tell
I have no earthly master 'cause I'm condemned to hell!
My moral violations are proof for all to see
My life is just a journey to where I oughtta be
There are evil wicked forces within my every cell
Which always reassures me that I'm condemned to hell!
Hell - Is meant for me
Hell - Is where I'll be
Hell - The place I'll roam
Hell - My final home
To many I'm a demon to others I'm insane
But all who dare confront me are brought to death in pain
I always kill them slowly I love to hear them yell
I slaughter without mercy and I'm condemned to hell!!

Ooh.
Ooh.
Yeah. A distasteful lyrics thread.
Sweet.

Here's one:

On the Rag by The Mentors
My bitch is on the rag
Bloody cunt is such a drag
My bitch is on the rag
Oh she's such a nag

Ran and jumped and splashed in her bed
Then I noticed the sheets were all bloody red
I was chowin' down and somethin' tasted weird
Ran to the mirror saw blood on my beard

My bitch is on the rag
Bloody cunt is such a drag
My bitch is on the rag
Oh,oh,oh she's such a nag

Then she said she wanted to ball
I said shut up bitch and take a midol
She insisted on having sex
Spread her legs and saw a kotex

My bitch is on the rag
Bleeding hole is such a drag
My bitch is on the rag
Oh,oh,oh she's such a nag

She was bitchy and causing a fuss
It's an added problem between us
Water build up what a drag
I know this bitch is on the rag

When this bitch is on the rag
I love to say things and I love to brag
Usually sex is such a gas
But this time,I'm crammin' it up her ass yeah

My bitch is on the rag
Bleeding twit is such a drag
My bitch is on the rag
Oh,oh,oh she's such a nag

On the rag,what a drag,on the rag,what a drag
She's on the rag, she's on the rag, she's such a nag

Rap sucks.
Let's talk about Rock and/or Roll. And distasteful lyrics.

Dead Skin Mask by Slayer:
[(spoken:)
How Ive waited for you to come
I've been here all alone
Now that youve arrived
Please stay a while
And I promise I wont keep you long
I'll keep you forever]

Graze the skin with my finger tips
The brush of dead cold flesh pacifies [sings appease] the means
Provoking images delicate features so smooth
A pleasant fragrance in the light of the moon

Dance with the dead in my dreams
Listen to their hallowed screams
The dead have taken my soul
Temptations lost all control

Simple smiles elude psychotic eyes
Lose all mind control rationale declines
Empty eyes enslave the creations
Of placid faces and lifeless pageants

In the depths of a mind insane
Fantasy and reality are the same

Graze the skin with my finger tips
The brush of dead warm flesh pacifies the means
Incised members ornaments on my being
Adulating the skin before me

Simple smiles elude psychotic eyes
Lose all mind control rationale declines
Empty eyes enslave the creations
Of placid faces and lifeless pageants

Dance with the dead in my dreams [hello? hello mr gein? ]
Listen to their hollowed screams [mr gein? ]
The dead have taken my soul [lemme out of here mr gein]
Temptations lost all control [mr gein? I dont wanna play anymore mr gein]
Dance with the dead in my dreams [mr gein, its not any fun anymore,]
Listen to their hollowed screams [i dont want to play anymore mr gein]
The dead have taken my soul [mr gein? lemme out of here mr gein]
Temptations lost all control [lemme out, lemmmmeee oouuuuuuttt!!]

Actually, rap is not judged on the extreme, rather the norm. The very people that argue well for rap (unlike you Blackrain) state that the rap that we hate is mainstream, versus the stuff that is good being underground. On the other hand, you say we judge it on extremes, but were that the case, I'd say we would find it to be better. Though I applaud your finding of these questionable rock lyrics, I have never heard that song or one like it. This illustrates that it is, as you said, extreme. Therefore, this argument is about two different things with entirely different variables as well, and therefore not the argument you were trying to initiate. It means nothing.

Blacktrain:

You're taking extreme examples from heavy DEATH metal bands. Let me say that again. DEATH METAL. Of course the lyrics are going to be satanic. Thats why its called death metal. There is a difference between that and rock. In rap however, harsh and uncompromising lyrics are the norm. You obviously dont listen to any rock radio stations. You won't hear satanic lyrics. They exist, but not in the mainstream. Therefore, your ass is owned is this whole argument.

You're wrong, can you explain why the Beatles had Alleister Crowley (Satanic Preacher) posing with them on one of their album covers? And there's many more examples of Rock artists infactuation with Satan. Read the link I provided in a previous posts. The facts are there.

Rigor Mortis is a speed metal band.
The Mentors are a thrash band.
Slayer is a speed/death hybrid.

Rigor Mortis is also playing live, re-united, in Dallas, San Marcos and Austin:

I suggest you go. Their guitarist later went on to Ministry, their bassist to Gwar, and their drummer to some punk band named Blohole.

Slayer, theoretically one of the most "Thatanic" metal bands, wrote this surprisingly Christian song:

An unforeseen future nestled somewhere in time.
Unsuspecting victims no warnings, no signs.
Judgment day the second coming arrives.
Before you see the light you must die.

Forgotten children, conform a new faith,
Avidity and lust controlled by hate.
[the] never ending search for your shattered sanity,
Souls of damnation in their own reality.

Chaos rampant,
An age of distrust.
Confrontations.
Impulsive habitat.

Bastard sons beget your cunting daughters,
Promiscuous mothers with your incestuous fathers.
Engreat souls condemned for [all] eternity,
Sustained by immoral observance a domineering deity.

Chaos rampant,
An age of distrust.
Confrontations.
Impulsive sabbath.

On and on, south of heaven [x 4]

Lead: king

The root of all evil is the heart of a black soul.
A force that has lived all eternity.
A never ending search for a truth never told.
The loss of all hope and your dignity.

Chaos rampant,
An age of distrust.
Confrontations.
Impulsive habitat.

On and on, south of heaven [x 4]

obviously you haven't listen to all rock songs. You must listen to the ones where they scream at the top of thier lungs all the time.

Exactly.

Maybe the problem I'm having is of my definition of rock, and what is considered rock. I was raised on classic rock: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Steppenwolf, the list goes on. I just don't see how stuff like that is satanic. I consider heavy metal and rock two seperate things. Hah, and it may well be wrong to do so according to some of you.

invert_nexus
08-09-05, 10:49 PM
Uh.
What's so 'christian' about South of Heaven?
They're pretty much saying that you should die before you see the light and therefore go to hell.

Now.
Are they glorifying Satanism? Making it like some kind of candyland?
No. They speak blatantly about the dangers inherent in such a path if one believed in the whole myth (which I don't think they do. It's a joke to them.)
Spill the blood clearly starts out with them telling you to spill the blood and that you'll get this and that. But it ends clearly with "I'll have your soul."
The Crooked Cross is likewise, although it could conceivably be about a Nazi ideology rather than a 'satanic' army. It really could cover both.

So.
What do you consider to be satanic?
If Satan were real, then why would you expect him to be selling himself with these lyrics that clearly expose his evil? Isn't Satan the father of lies? What was the band that Little Nicky played backwards? Chicago?

And. Yes. I don't really see a difference in genres. Yes. I suppose you could call the heavier bands 'metal'. But. Many people would call Led Zeppelin heavy metal (which brings us to 'sad satan' muaha!)

It's all rock'n'roll.

Anyway.
Get off the Satanic crap and think more about hedonism or stupidity.
Rock is definitely not purely intellectual. Yes. It does have a large number of thought provoking bands. Especially when you get to the heavier genres (perhaps ironically). But, it's filled with idiotic good-time, party, fuck the world let's get high music that you're all ignoring.

So what?

Rap sucks. I say this with no hesitation in my mind whatsoever. It sucks donkey dick and I wish it'd just die and go away.
But. Whatever. It's just music. Even if I don't like it. The people buying the crap do. So all power to 'em.

It sucks that headbangers ball died (although I think it's back. Or was back briefly. But just not the same. It all seems so imitative nowadays. Trying to recapture a heyday rather than progressing.)
But. The world continues.
Put in some Exodus and do the Toxic Waltz.
Good friendly violent fun in store for all.

And then smoke a joint, get an erection, and rape someone.
Woo hoo!

This thread would have been far better as a distasteful lyrics thread.
Oh well.

Who says I was beaten down? I just haven't been on for a while. The fact is, Blackrain, that the extreme in rock (you said it was in your first post) is being compared with the mainstream of rap. Therefore, your argument has no real relevance. If you fail to see this, then it is you who are the idiot.

Blackrain appears to be under the delusion that there is rap music and everything else. In fact, 'everything else' also has a lot of bad content as well.

Quality, of which there is little, can exist in any genre of music. Unfortunately, rap has not provided any as yet.

And, quality stems from the individual artist as opposed to the genre. It is the one who pens the songs that needs to be critiqued.

Blackrain
08-11-05, 09:50 PM

What is really pathetic about rap is that it brings out the 'white-trash-wannabees' who pretend they are Bronx inner-city black gang members. They drive around in Hondas with massive stereo systems and loud mufflers with their seats folded back so they can peek through the steering wheel. Very funny, fo' shizzle.

Do you pretend too, blackbrain?

Hip hop is not a black thing, it's a human thing. White's don't have to act black to enjoy rap, the best rapper in the world is white. I can't count how many blacks i've seen trying to act white since eminem became popular. I've never seen so many black guys die their hair blond, trying to look like Eminem.

It goes both ways Q-tip! So are those guys black trash or uncle toms?

Rock is individualistic, which is a form of selfishness, thus to many people's viewpoint, Satanic.

I suggest that, since we live in the ludicrously dysfunctional multiculture, we tolerate their points of view.

Rap is just moronic however. Then again, I find almost all rock and jazz and blues to be utterly stupid as well, just requiring a teeny bit more technicality.

Hagar
09-24-05, 05:27 PM
Something "satanic" is typically something that goes outside the moral and/or religious boundries of society, is an inversion of christian beliefs, or is as Android pointed out, a feeling of fierce individuality. In this regard, rap too could be "satanic", but most rappers are not individualists but immitators.
Rock sucks, try Monteverdi.

If you adhere to the simplistic assumption that Satanism represents pointless violence or debauchery as Christian leaders would want you think. I disagree that rap is satanic, I think rap is just ignorant.

that song's based on a serial killer, it's not just something the band made up. how is that satanic? it really happened. those stupid songs eminem writes about killing his wife are sick things he thought up himself, that's a hell of a lot more satanic.

...and there's also a big difference between rock and metal.

"Today, at almost any "heavy-metal'' rock concert one can hear the audience being exhorted to rape and murder in the name of Satan..."

That beginning sentence is so wrong I could not read any further...

That is so retarded. Rock is all about indepencence, so it is no surprise to me that many early rock acts are anti-christian. Satanic? Hardly. Now, some modern death and especially black metal is really satanic, but that is first off a minority, and second off is done a lot just to fit the music, and isn't actually the belief of the band. The real satanic metal is often more intellegent and less "kill" mindset. As for mainstream rock, it is far more intellegent and sensitive then mainstream rap. I don't know why anyone would care about a rappers bling, or his nice car, or a hot chick he fvcked. It is more idiotic then all that hair metal, and that got pretty idiotic. Either way, neither mainstream rock or rap is particularly tasteful, I'd suggest either the greats or the underground.
