I would like a subforum for discussions related to, about, or even in different languages. I consider myself an amateur linguist who may not know as much as he should, but probably knows more than the average person. I feel that linguistics is one field of science I shine in, relative to other fields. As much as I like other sciences in general, I only know enough that I'm not a bumbling idiot about science like some on this forum (and I won't name any names). Although there's no real need for this subforum, I think creating it will promote relevant discussions and attract linguists to SciForums. A need would simultaneously be created and satisfied. Any thoughts? Oh, and please vote in the poll! EDIT: On second thought, concerning the poll, I don't think I made a perfect one. If you're unsatisfied with your choices, please post in the thread and elaborate on your opinion.
That would be...........not sciforums. Or would it be? Or would it not be? Or what would it be if it would not be? Is this sciforums? Do any of you speak english? I dont understand these letters...I thought I came here to understand science but now all I see is another language that I cannot understand...so I feel empty...lost...silent.
not when I am blind to words I see and silence surrounds my soul. It is like having discovered love to a girl on the other side of the universe...and she is never to be with you together...just pointless.

I've posted on something that comes within Linguistics already- namely versification, in the Art&Culture subforum. I wouldn't have posted that in a linguistics subforum anyway, since its more proper place is in poetry. But I'm not talking about starting new threads. If someone else started an interestin threads, of course I would post in those, and maybe also get ideas for new starting new ones.
I believe there is a thread going on in Free Thoughts that could qualify for this proposed subforum as I had defined it. [Thread=62475]Clicky the linky.[/Thread]
