You know, I probably wouldn't have gotten along with the woman, but who knows? Anyway, condolences to Chuck and the boys, and the young girl who just lost a grandmother.

Are you going to post such topics each time anyone in the world dies? If not, then what's so special about Jo Ann Davis that you picked her death out from the millions of people who died on the same day?

Or is it perhaps a slight to all those others who died ...and you want to emphasize that they don't matter ...that only Jo Ann Davis matters?

Ha, I agree. I would've thought the Washington Post obit. was enough without the old girl needing a special Skyforums send-off.

News to Virginians maybe. The rest of the world hurries on by without a second glance.

It's relevant, except to apathetic losers

I would think the answer to that is obvious, Max.

It's properly political news. The GOP just lost a vote in the House, and the Dems might pick one up.

    Seems relevant.

And, besides ... while I probably wouldn't have gotten along with her, I can't say she didn't have any symbolic value. The first woman West Virginia ever sent to Congress? So it took to the end of the twentieth century, but they got there. And her legacy doesn't seem to be an embarrassment.

The apathetic hurry on by without a second glance. Although they're very self-consciously apathetic, which seems contradictory.

Caucus totals in the House are shifting: 233-202; the latter just became 201, and the former could become 234. It won't make the biggest difference, but it's something to keep an eye on nonetheless.

While you, on the other hand, have for many days now completely ignored the 8,000-10,000 children in Africa who die every single day. You've never posted one single thread in honor of those kids, yet here you make a whole thread in honor of one lousy death.

Yeah, a big WOOP, huh? But is it, somehow, more important, bigger news, than the starvation deaths of tens of thousands of the world's children, dying every single day?

I know that Sam isn't much concerned about the starvation deaths in India, because she/he is much more concerned about what Americans do or what Israelis do politically. But then I think Sam is a paid propagandist.

What's your excuse, Tiasss? Too concerned about bad cops in the USA to worry about tens of thousands of starving children in the world?
