Just an observation:
As of late, there's been some strangeness ocurring. I hereby propose that all potential new members be required to pass a test of some sort, say, one for spelling at the very least.

I agree with Asguard.

Now, get to work Asguard and move this unintelligent annoying thread to site feedback, where it can drown into the sciforums sauce.

Nope... I agree with glaucon.
Your very first post on these fora.Originally posted by glaucon
Similarily, overusing any medicine, including simple vitamin supplements does the same thing. AIDS has been around for at least 40 years and yet, despite modern medicine, numbers of cases are increasing epidemically. Why?? Because through medicine, food additives, et. al., we are weakiening our immune system. One could say that on a very small scale, we are 'mutating' ourselves already.

http://sciforums.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=43788#post43788Here's hoping you will lead by example, and excuse yourself from SciForums.

:m: Peace.

Its not so much the spelling as the incoherent posts. I can figure out the words of these people just not the sentences. Its bizarre. I'm not slamming on them or anything. I think ripleofdeath seems like he has a great mind but I swear, I read his posts once, shake my head and try again and then try again and then give up because I just seriously don't have a clue what he is saying, ever.
There are a few new members with this special "stealth" ability. For all I know they could be saying "dr lou enjoys fisting male asses" in their special code language and I wouldn't be able to defend myself because I wouldn't know they said it:(

Let me clarify.
What I meant to say was more along the lines of what Dr Lou Natic said. My comment regarding spelling was spurious. I can overlook poor spelling, grammar, etc., and make these kinds of mistakes as well, as goofyfish was so kind to point out. What bothers me is incoherent ramblings about rape this.. f*ck this, this is sh*t, blah, blah, etc. Surely this kind of language is out of place here?

P.S.
goofyfish, I sincerely hope you were joking about 'excusing' myself from SciForums.
For someone who purports to be about 'peace', your 'suggestion' would evidence a narrow point of view that, at least judging from your posts, I don't think you possess.

I am merely pointing out the ridiculous nature of your suggestion
that there be a test of any nature in order to participate here.
As is often the case, those who propose some sort of requirement
in order to participate in a community are often those who would not
qualify based on the very nature of their suggestion. Just a thought.

:m: Peace.

Often. But not always.
In any case, you are correct of course. I could not, in good conscience, support an exclusionary policy of any description. It just saddens me sometimes when I realize that I can actually watch the disintegration of language skills as it occurs.

I really think your request is rediculous. Engaging in discussion in sciforum takes at least two participants. So if you don't like the person responding to you, consider the alternative, you can have people ignoring you. You are also at complete freedom to choose to respond or ignore a specific post. If you are not happy with the overall site, then you are free to find another. Why are you seeking to put a standard to something that is not meant to be a standard. Maybe the type of posters that annoy you do interest me and others.

So next time Ripple of death starts rambeling and you don't understand him, just ignore him, and I'll be more than glad to be the lucky one to converse with him..

These forums are all about diversity in ideas, cultures, tastes, ect.....How else are we to find out about great musics, philosophies, religions, political ideas. This is not a one size fit all forums.....So learn to live and let others live too.

It's the internet, who cares if you can't spell? Just as long as your message isn't like this:

HeY GuYs i m l33tm4$+3r @nd I roxx0rs j00

I don't have a problem with anyones spelling unless it comes out like this:

U r lol funny.
GOD nos that ppl like u r responsible.

So basically anybody who does speak english doesn't have an excuse. Asguard, you speak english. You don't have an excuse. Run your crap through a spell checker man!

What's all this talk about gay people? I take offence at the name of this thread.

If you want to hear my own proposal about what should be done with users who can't post coherent messages just look here (http://www.sciforums.com/showthread.php?threadid=24087) for my suggestion of a "Kiddy Table" forum.
