Ramadan

TextThe Koran was sent down to the prophet Mohammed,
and also God said that fasting is proscribed to you
and the people before you. It is nothing new. The
beautiful month of Ramadan is a month of peace. The
beginning of it is the mercy of God, given to guidance
and concentrating more on the aspects of mercy. The
middle third is forgiveness, love and kindness.

By fasting, Muslims have an opportunity to focus on many lessons that make up the very tenets that their religion is based upon; some of the most important lessons are self-control, inner reflection and the importance of charity. Fasting is very directly linked to learning the final lesson, the importance of charity. By denying themselves food, Muslims begin to understand what people less fortunate than they may feel when food is not available. Muslims often make a special effort to donate money, food and goods to charities or people in their community during the month of Ramadan.

May Allah accept our fasting, forgive our sins, and guide us all to the Straight Path.* May Allah bless us all during Ramadan, and throughout the year, with His forgiveness, mercy, and peace, and bring us all closer to Him and to each other.**

Fresh bombs shake Iraqi capital

The first bomb targeted a convoy of armoured vehicles

A car bomb has exploded near the oil ministry in central Baghdad killing 10 Iraqis, police said.

Reports say the blast, a few hundred metres from the ministry, also wounded at least eight others.

Earlier a suicide car bomb exploded in the east of Baghdad, killing a female bystander and wounding many.

The bomb that destroyed a Shia mosque in Hilla killed 25 worshippers gathering for prayers on the first day of the holy month of Ramadan.

Ramadan has begun, a month of Ramadan is a month of peace, forgiveness, love and kindness.

Funny i dont see alot of the above going on yesterday, and today, just the usual daily islamic militant bombing routine, 5 soldiers killed in thailand, and the usual carnage, and bombs in iraq, 12 dead today, and 25 dead yesterday,

I mean cant they stop the bombs, for a month, is it to much to ask, after all it is supposed, to be the most religous time, of the year for them.

Ramadan & bombs, is this what there religous month is about?

Well, extremist muslims are obviously going to be triggerhappy or buttonhappy on holidays...same with the VC in the Tet Offensive in '68-'69.

Every year, i hope foolishly, that maybe just this time, they will honour the meaning of Ramadan, and every year, i see no respite in terroist activities, 3 or 5 heads, of suicide bombers heads, were shown in a indonesian newspapers to help identify these men, the head is the only thing that stays intact, in a suicide bombing incident, needless to say no one has come forward with info, they must have been orphans.

Now America has come forward with a 10 million dollar bounty, on the bombers, no doubt there amnesia will clear up, and someone will claim one of the heads.

Headless men shown in newspapers, so we can identify terroists, how much more can humanity take of this madness.

All i want is this terroism to stop, and all this justification for terroist acts, is just something for racists to hide behind, what is a militant a vigilante.

Extremists only ever want peace on their terms. That is, they won't stop until they are in power, and can dictate what other people are allowed to do.

Extremists won't stop until they are in power, or are defeated. I think of Hitler here - and what a monster he created, but a least we knew who were fighting against, we knew who the enemy was.

The monster we are fighting today is an invisible army of violent, murdurous, cowardist thugs and I fear that we will be a troubled world for a very long time

Heh, why make the terrorists wait for those blissful virgins? Bring em in by the thousands. That'll surely put things on ice. Think about it, the terrorists have no women, they're bloated with testosterone. Hugh Heffner should take things over.

So, Muslims must pretend to be hungry and told to give to charities at a certain time of year? They are unable to see people less fortunate than they and can't help them the year round?

I'm reminded of a certain scrooge-like character.

I don't give to charaties at all. What's wrong with that?
If they are less fortunate than me, then they should go do something with thier lives, or die. Whichever saves me the most money so's I can buy meself some stuff.

I think ramadan, is a excellent time, to brain wash muslims, maybe it all started for this purpose, the body drained of energy weak, and then someone rambling, some well chosen words in there ears, a bit like guantanamo bay, same tatics, except there they dont call it ramadan, they call it torture, so can we also assume ramadan, is a form of torture too.**

The images of looting aid lorries, in pakistan is hardly the theme of ramadan, what happened to charity and goodwill, looks more like a free for all, i want to get all the goodies, and *uck everybody else scenario.

I have heard of looting shops, but not aid vans, thats a original one.
