Five out of eight women that are part of an anti war group called the Raging Grannies were charged with Invading Military Territory for refusing to leave a recruiting office in Tucson, Arizona. The "Grannies" aged 57-92 went to enlist claiming they wanted to fight in Iraq. They said it is because they believe that old people should die in the war and not the young. The police were called when the "grannies" refused to leave. If they are convicted they could get five months in jail or a 500 dollar fine. http://tlc.discovery.com/news/afp/20050801/grannies.html

Well, they committed a crime, they should have to pay the price. The law is supposed to be non-discriminatory with regard to age, ethnic origins, religious beliefs, etc.

There's a difference between LEGAL protest and "riotous protest". Some of us even know the differences.

I didn't say they should not be punished if they did something wrong. I just found this story a bit humorous. I hardly think it was a riotous protest though. Just some geezers want to fight a war.
