spacemanspiff 01-11-03, 11:21 PM what do people think about their albums?
i have all of them, and i still like OK Computer and The Bends the best.
notme2000 01-12-03, 12:17 AM I'm somewhat new to Radiohead, but I have only recently fallen in love with Creep!
sycoindian 01-12-03, 04:34 AM spaceman... as an album.. my favourite is Kid A... the entire way thru... of course OK and bends are amazin.. but as a FULL album, nothin beats Kid A.
notme.. radiohead is awesome... creep is their first hit.. u shud check out their stuff since they started in order.. u'll understand how they've progressed.. :)
notme2000 01-12-03, 12:07 PM Actually I started with their newest stuff and worked my way backwards, so I kinda saw them progress backwards, lol.
sycoindian 01-12-03, 12:39 PM ahahahahha.... retracin aint a bitch... i wonder if you hit a wall after listenin to amnesiac and kid A and then listenin to ok computer... cuz ok computer is just so different than the last 2 albums... i personally really came to understand them well when they jumped from ok to kid A... that's just my personal opinion.. listen away... :D
Geometric-drumming 01-13-03, 06:30 AM When I go forwards
You go backwards
And somewhere we will meet
I hate myself and I wanna die for not going to the concert in Berlin on the 11th of September 2001....what would be a more appropiate way to spend the night after the attacks?
i was told the sold tickets for 2-3 Euro's/$$
and i was at work cuz i thought it'd be too expensive...
Geometric-drumming 01-30-03, 07:29 AM I suggest everyone to take a few minutes to listen to "like spinning plates" from the "I might be wrong" live recordings...
hardly as beautiful stuff out there...
Regards
Chris
Spector 01-31-03, 12:58 AM Kid A is a great soundtrack to walking around the streets at night with no particular place to go.
notme2000 01-31-03, 01:00 AM Kid A is a great soundtrack to walking around the streets at night with no particular place to go.
I'll second that!
sycoindian 01-31-03, 07:18 AM ---Kid A is a great soundtrack to walking around the streets at night with no particular place to go.---
my words.. my words comin outta your mouth.. :D
---I suggest everyone to take a few minutes to listen to "like spinning plates" from the "I might be wrong" live recordings---
absolutely... a beautiful version... i love the studio version too.. but the piano in the live one is just pheonmenal...
Sometimes I might become slightly unsatisfied with philosophy. I feel like it lacks the ability to express something emotionally about my current state of mind. What I do then is to listen to Radiohead especially "Amnesiac" and "Kid A" but also others. Then I feel what this music express is 1000 times more accurate than what I can ever express in philosophy. This music express something that is more accuratly picturering the real world and my place in it than possible in philosophy. Music like e.g. "National Anthem" is neither happy, sad, party of any reductionist mood music. It´s music expressing a statement about a certain aspect of reality very delicate. Im anoyed by music that offer an false account of the world e.g. superhappy music. Radiohead doesn't do that it´t not irrational happy or unhappy they express both and everything between.
Im not a fan of Radiohead I dissagree completly with their political point of view and care little about Thom Yorkes favorit cerial or car. Im a fan of their music it's without parallel. For those who are able to appreciate it fully it´s brilliant. I think any written account including this, of Radiohead´s music will fall short and that prooves nicely why it's great and why this at times work as a "supplement" to philosophy.
sycoindian 02-04-03, 01:03 PM care little about Thom Yorkes favorit cerial or car
any radiohead fan claimin to know all that has just lost it.. i dont give a shit about what he eats, wat mattress he sleeps in or how many women he's had... all i care is about their music...

you can't summarize a radiohead album with words.. its just impossible...
well why not just give it your best shot eh?
besides by following that train of thought, we can assert that any experience is ill served by a verbal or written description
sycoindian 02-05-03, 01:49 AM we can assert that any experience is ill served by a verbal or written description
that is quite true... i dont think you can fully put down an experience into words..
Fathoms 02-05-03, 02:28 PM Remember several months ago during the meteor showers? Well, late one night I left my house and headed up towards the top of the hill I live on where there is a wide open track area. With Kid A playing in my discman I was calm and as far removed from the stresses of life as I'm ever going to be. As it turned out I was hours to early and had to go home and missed the celestial event alltogether. But I must say, when How to Dissapear Completely graced my ears for a short while under a star studded sky... I was in heaven.
notme2000 02-05-03, 03:41 PM Remember several months ago during the meteor showers?
That was awesome. 3 of my friends and I went waaay out of the city and watched them with some really ambient music playing from the car. Awesome night.

sycoindian 03-26-03, 06:41 AM yeahh... heard about it yday... can't wait.... haven't heard any of those songs and im not gonna download em either... just gonna wait for the album to come out.. wonder if they have a limited edition for this one too.. checked on hmv.com to see if they have the album for pre order, but its still not there.. guess they're workin on the artwork... also, wat an appropriate title for the album...
sycoindian 03-30-03, 04:59 PM apparently the new album has been leaked out.. there is a ton of controversy if it is a mastered version or not.. but jonny came on the official board and made some interesting comments... i personally haven't listened to any of the mp3's and am not gonna.. im gonna tie my hands down.. i know the wait is gonna eat my brain out, but i'll wait.. i wanna have the entire package with the artwork... plus its always sweet buyin it at midnite and then listenin it with a buncha friends havin somethin to drink n eat and spend the night away... all reviews of the album so far have been amazing... i can't wait to get my hands on the album.. gotta wait till june tho'... i can do it..
mister62 03-31-03, 10:13 AM Radiohead is awesome. I love all their stuff, especially the newer stuff. For me the best album is a toss-up between Kid A and Amnesiac. I get the chills whenever I hear Life in a Glass house or the Live version of Spinning Plates. Wow. Thom is awesome. Thom is god.
Year Radiohead rules. Hope the new one will live up to expectations.
Depeche Mode is not bad either(though different ofcause).
sycoindian 04-01-03, 05:04 AM been a radiohead fan for a long time now.. i love to see how they've matured from pablo honey all the way to amnesiac.. i've not heard the tracks from the new album, but the reviews are fantastic... they are by far the best band in the last decade or so... they are the reason why i listen to music... i can't wait to go and buy the new album in june.. long wait tho'...
MooseKnuckle 04-02-03, 01:23 AM Radiohead is definitely different and I enjoy their music, my favorite song of all time (tied with be quiet and drive by the deftones) is Karma Police, i dont think anyone mentioned that song. Can't get enough of that song.
sycoindian 04-02-03, 07:22 AM okk.. i cudn't take it.. i downloaded the leaked version.. its awesome... of course its not the final mastered n mixed version.. but im really happy with where they're goin with this one... really mesmerizing and multicoloured... im happy i've had my fix... now i'll wait for the cd to be released... :)
MooseKnuckle 04-02-03, 01:30 PM sycoindian- what do you think of Karma Police? want to know how a major fan feels towards it, cause im not sure how it can be compared to the majority of their songs
sycoindian 04-02-03, 02:32 PM karma police is one of the defining tracks of Ok Computer. It started out as a catch phrase the band members used.. if someone said somethin bad or did somethin bad they'd say 'karma police is gonna getcha'... its a beautiful and very powerful track... thom refers to that song as head buzz... most of my friends that started listenin to radiohead liked that song instantly... its one of the easy tracks from OKC to absorb... i recommend you listen to the entire album.. if you're really interested in the band, id advise you to start from their first album pablo honey.. and work ur way upto amnesiac.. u'll see how the band has matured and how amazin they are... they are the reason i listen to music... Kid A got me thru a very rough period of my life... they are by far the most impressive band in the last decade or so...
Geometric-drumming 04-07-03, 11:53 AM be sure to check out the video...
and then think twice before hunting someone down
:D
havalina 04-14-03, 04:59 PM OK Computer was the album of 1997 and in turn, their best IMO.
Pearly is my favourite song by Radiohead (Airbag/How am I driving? EP)
Can't quite make heads or tails of these lyrics to my favourite song:
Pearly
how do you get your teeth so pearly?
children, dishes
white-washed faces
she runs from her father crying
yellow milkshakes
hardrock cafe's
that's where she got her sweet tooth for white boys
she runs from her father crying
daddy hurts me
daddy hurts me
daddy hurts me
daddy hurts me
...yikes. I still love the song tho. I just found their new one Hail to the Thiefon the Internet today... a little early ;)
From what I've heard so far... I am enjoying it.
Charles Fleming 04-18-03, 11:04 AM I personally do not like radiohead. The bends is one of the best albums ever, but I think that they went completely down the pan after this. I suppose it was hard for the band to beat though!
spiral FiLL 02-03-04, 11:41 PM The chaps appear to me as very very awake...
they Pick the right tunes and just make it right...

So this is the famous Geometric-Drumming.
Man I have been google searching for you for a while.
Dont blush just yet, I'm actually looking for a friend of yours.
A good friend of mine emailed a post to me. He didnt say where he got it from or who posted it. But your name is in the post so I figured you would kindly help me get in touch with him.
I googled the post and its all over the internet. Everyone is copying it. At least they're not saying its theirs though. Their just saying author un-known. I figured the author should have his props.
Please email me spiral_fill@hotmail.com if you remember anything about the person who wrote this.
Here is the post, notice your name near the bottom:
"To me, Tool's Lateralus is the most amazing piece of music ever composed. Not because I'm a goofball that has an affinity for the rockin' hard metal, and not because I want to latch on to their (in my opinion, unfairly applied) satanic reputation, but because I can say that it is the most intellectual, inspirational, and awe-inspiring material that I have ever been exposed to. Many reviews and commentaries of Lateralus on the internet mention that it was long-awaited, often saying that it eased Tool fans' desire for more. I think it was much more than that.
I think Tool deliberately wanted to give their fans something truly amazing, but wanted them to find it on their own. "Recognize this as a holy gift..." At first, I thought that the song Lateralus was about tripping acid - discovering true color by seperating the body from the mind. At first listen, I imagined the bending envelope as an intense visual. After becoming more familiar with the track, however, I had reformed my interpretation to something broader: think deeper. Lateralus, perhaps because it is the album's "title track", serves as the central clue for a puzzle that a friend of mine had read about somewhere on the internet. "All I know is that there is a different order for the songs - something about two spirals. Oh yeah, and thirteen is in the middle."
