What if we're an Empire? I mean, a real Empire.
What would our economy look like?

I was thinking; we've overlooked (in terms of predicting the US economy in 2012) the idea of a real American Empire. With the USA conscripting citizens and aggressively and overtly (yes, even more so than now) securing natural resources.

I'm not sure if we can divorce the political ramification, but, what I really wonder about is the economic ramifications.

So? What prompted me to think about that? Other than the obvious tanking of the USA economy, which we're witnessing happen as we type. But the notion that we're about to make a 180 away from the Banksters, who control Obama, back to the energy/war-machine (who pulled Bush Jr. strings). Only there's no sense in having a puppet. I think we're getting the real deal.

Seems David Petraeus retired today. Don't be too shocked when he runs for POTUS. Which is a worry. We could elect someone like Ron Paul, you know, and gain freedom - but, that's too scary. People don't like freedom. Never had, never will. Well, at least not after they're fat and happy.

The simple fact is we have the most advanced military in human history. I don't see how our economy can collapse - until our military collapses. And it's no where near collapsing. Sure, they suck at so-called "Nation Building" *what a joke*. But they can easily crush ANY other military on the planet. So, before we go into a real depression, I think we'd elect a semi-Dictator (POTUS can legally run the country in war time for a decade).
